Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) has always been one of General Hospital’s most outspoken and snarky characters, known for her biting remarks, sharp wit, and unapologetic attitude.

While she’s certainly been a fan favorite for her no-nonsense approach, many fans are beginning to question whether her behavior has crossed a line in recent storylines.

Her harsh treatment of fellow characters, particularly Sasha (Sofia Mattsson), has left viewers wondering if Tracy’s snarky charm is becoming too much to handle.

The Evolution of Tracy Quartermaine’s Attitude

Tracy has been known for her fierce, take-no-prisoners approach, which has often led to conflict, but it’s been balanced with moments of vulnerability and warmth.

Who could forget the time she made headlines for refusing to give her father, Edward Quartermaine, his heart medication during a health scare?

It was an extreme move, but it was also classic Tracy—a woman who never hesitated to put her foot down, even if it was at the expense of those around her.

Throughout the years, Tracy’s character has softened in some respects, particularly after falling for Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary). The loss of Luke left Tracy heartbroken and grieving, but over time, her tough exterior began to crack. However, more recently, her kinder moments seem to be few and far between. Tracy’s current behavior has been frustrating fans, particularly in her treatment of Sasha, the Quartermaine family cook.

Tracy and Sasha: A Relationship Gone Sour

One of the most puzzling aspects of Tracy’s character lately is her blatant hostility toward Sasha. While it’s no secret that Tracy can be difficult, her relentless attacks on Sasha have raised eyebrows. The tension between the two began when Tracy voiced her disapproval of Sasha’s role in the Quartermaine household, which is odd, considering Sasha was hired by Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) as the family’s cook. Tracy’s animosity has escalated to the point where she berates Sasha regularly, often treating her with little to no respect.

What makes this situation even more perplexing is that the rest of the Quartermaine family has largely stood by and allowed this behavior to continue. No one has stepped in to defend Sasha, leaving her to fend for herself under Tracy’s relentless attacks. The only person to speak up in Sasha’s defense was Jason (Steve Burton), but beyond him, the rest of the Quartermaines have remained silent. For a family that prides itself on its powerful connections and protective nature, this lack of support is disheartening.

Sasha’s Breaking Point: The Pregnancy Reveal

Sasha, understandably, reached her breaking point after being ordered by Tracy to climb up on shelves to catch a mouse—a task that felt absurd and unnecessary, especially given the resources the Quartermaines have to deal with pests. In a moment of frustration, Sasha blurted out that she was pregnant. However, instead of receiving sympathy or understanding from Tracy, Sasha was met with more ridicule. This moment was a turning point for Sasha, who finally snapped in a bid to assert herself.

At this point, Sasha had every right to demand better treatment, but Tracy’s response was nothing short of cruel. The Quartermaine matriarch resorted to name-calling, showing no empathy for Sasha’s pregnancy. It’s moments like these that make viewers question whether Tracy’s biting remarks are crossing into outright bullying territory.

Tracy’s Overstep with Willow’s Children

Tracy’s behavior has not been limited to her interactions with Sasha. She has also been meddling in the lives of Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) and her children, Wiley (Viron Weaver) and Amelia (Sequoia & Serenity Mork Macko). Tracy took it upon herself to keep Willow’s children from her, despite having no legal claim to them. While Tracy justified her actions by claiming she was doing it for Monica (Leslie Charleson), it was clear to others that she was simply using her power to assert control.

Tracy’s overreach in this situation was met with resistance from Martin (Michael E. Knight), who confronted her about her treatment of Willow and the children. Martin was the first to call out Tracy’s actions, refusing to let her hide behind excuses. He pointed out that she had no right to keep the children from their mother and told her exactly what he thought of her behavior. It was a much-needed moment of accountability for Tracy, who has often used her position within the family to manipulate and control situations to her benefit.

Will Anyone Stand Up to Tracy?

Tracy’s behavior has left fans wondering if it’s time for someone to finally stand up to her. While her family, especially Olivia and Monica, have often turned a blind eye to her antics, there are a few people who are starting to challenge her.

One character who has always been unafraid to stand up to Tracy is Stella (Vernee Watson). The two formed a friendship after Stella refused to let Tracy push her around. If Tracy were to treat Sasha the way she has been recently, Stella would undoubtedly put her in her place. It’s clear that Tracy respects those who don’t let her get away with bad behavior, and Stella has proven to be one of the few characters who won’t tolerate Tracy’s snarky attitude.

Has Tracy Gone Too Far?

Tracy’s sharp wit and snarky remarks have long been a trademark of her character, but in recent episodes, her behavior has crossed the line into outright bullying. Whether it’s her mistreatment of Sasha or her overstep in Willow’s family matters, Tracy is pushing the boundaries of what is acceptable. Fans are divided on how to handle Tracy’s character—some enjoy her tough-love approach, while others feel that it’s time for her to be taken down a peg.

What’s clear is that Tracy is no longer just the bossy, sharp-tongued matriarch of the Quartermaine family—she’s becoming a force of negativity that is affecting those around her. It may be time for Tracy to learn that her words and actions have consequences, and the people around her won’t always stand by while she pushes them to their breaking point.

Will someone finally call Tracy out for her behavior? Only time will tell. Fans are hoping that someone, whether it be Martin, Stella, or another Quartermaine family member, will finally take a stand and remind Tracy that there’s a line between tough love and cruelty.
