Sam Aston, famed for his role as Chesney Brown on Coronation Street, has been crowned the champion of Dancing on Ice 2025.

The actor triumphed in a highly competitive final on Sunday, March 9, impressing both the judges and viewers with his stunning performances.

Alongside his skating partner, Molly, Sam wowed audiences with a combination of skill, choreography, and emotion that earned them perfect scores from the judges.

The final, which was broadcast live, saw all three finalists—Sam, wildlife presenter Michaela Strachan, and former footballer Anton Ferdinand—present showcase routines

that were choreographed by the legendary figure skaters Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean.

Each routine received high praise, but it was Sam and Molly’s rendition of The Pink Panther Theme

and their rendition of Torvill and Dean’s iconic Bolero that ultimately secured their victory.

A Winning Performance

Sam’s win came as a surprise to him, with the actor visibly shocked when his name was called out as the winner. Speaking to hosts Holly Willoughby and Stephen Mulhern shortly after his victory, Sam expressed his disbelief, saying, “I’ve literally got no words!” Reflecting on his journey throughout the competition, Sam admitted, “It’s just been such a journey, and a mad one. And it was always Molly’s dream to be on this show since watching it as a young girl.”

Christopher Dean, one of the show’s most respected judges, praised Sam’s performances, noting, “Your skating skills are always on show, but you had to have timing and acting… I’m really proud of you.” Sam’s performance to Bolero—the same piece that Torvill and Dean famously skated to when they won gold at the 1984 Winter Olympics—was a highlight of the evening. Torvill herself described it as “brilliant,” a glowing endorsement from one of the greatest skaters of all time.
