Coronation Street fans are in for a surprising revelation as the new owner of the iconic Rovers Return has been unveiled, and it’s not who many would have expected.

The famous pub, which has played a central role in the soap for over six decades, has witnessed countless characters come and go, each leaving their mark behind the bar.

From beloved characters like Bet Lynch (Julie Goodyear) and Liz McDonald (Beverly Callard) to newer faces like Sean Tully (Antony Cotton) and Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan),

the Rovers has always been a central hub for drama. However, in a dramatic twist, it’s now revealed that the future of the Rovers is in the hands of someone unexpected.

Currently, Carla Connor (Alison King) holds ownership of the Rovers, after a dramatic turn of events.

Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) and Daisy Midgeley, desperate to save themselves from financial ruin, used stolen money from Carla’s factory to buy the pub.

When Carla discovered this betrayal, she was understandably furious, but instead of involving the police, she chose to claim ownership of the pub, arguing that it had been purchased with her money. However, Carla’s role as the owner of the Rovers has recently been called into question after a major personal crisis.

In need of a kidney transplant, Carla has put pressure on Daisy and Jenny to return her money. With Carla demanding repayment, the situation has become more tense, as she threatened to sell the pub or get the police involved if they cannot meet her financial demands. But just when things seemed hopeless for Daisy and Jenny, a lifeline arrived in the form of Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard). In a selfless act, Daniel offered to use his son Bertie’s money to settle Carla’s demand, providing a temporary solution to the crisis.

However, just when Daisy thought things couldn’t get worse, she was hit with a devastating series of events. In the episode airing on Friday, March 7, Daisy, who had already suffered an unimaginable loss when she learned that she had lost her baby due to a hit-and-run incident, faced further turmoil. While in the hospital recovering, she was confronted by Shona Platt (Julia Goulding), who had her own financial problems. Shona and David (Jack P. Shepherd) owed thousands of pounds to the notorious gangster Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor), and in a shocking twist, Shona blackmailed Daisy. She demanded £40,000 from Daisy or she would expose Daisy’s involvement in the hit-and-run incident, which could lead to devastating consequences for her and Daniel.

With Daisy facing mounting pressures and the threat of her past mistakes being exposed, she was left with no choice but to comply. Aware that the truth could rob her of everything, including her relationship with Daniel and her son Bertie, Daisy reluctantly agreed to transfer the money to Shona in order to keep the secret safe.

As Daisy struggles to come up with the necessary funds, fans are now speculating who will ultimately step in to settle the debt to Carla and become the new owner of the Rovers. Many fans believe that Daisy’s estranged mother, Christina (Amy Robbins), may make a surprise return to Weatherfield to help her daughter. Viewers are hopeful that Christina, upon hearing of Daisy’s heartbreaking loss and the emotional turmoil she’s facing, may decide to come to her aid. This theory has gained traction on fan pages, with many viewers discussing the possibility of Christina returning to offer the financial support Daisy so desperately needs.

One fan commented on a Coronation Street Facebook page, “I feel like Daisy’s mum is going to help Daisy. We know she’s returning.” Another fan agreed, adding, “That’s a good idea. Christina hears about Daisy losing her baby, and she comes back to patch things up and help her daughter.” The return of Christina was confirmed earlier this year, following the announcement that Charlotte Jordan, who plays Daisy, would be leaving the soap after a five-year stint. Christina’s return could potentially provide a crucial resolution to the Rovers’ ownership dilemma, bringing some much-needed relief for Daisy during this emotionally turbulent time.

With Carla’s kidney transplant and her demand for repayment still looming over the pub, it’s clear that the Rovers’ future is far from secure. As Daisy navigates the complexities of her own life, and with the possibility of her mother returning to Weatherfield, it seems that the saga surrounding the Rovers Return is far from over. Will Christina step in to save the day, or will the Rovers undergo a more drastic change in ownership? Fans will have to stay tuned to Coronation Street for the next chapter in this ongoing drama.
