Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) has been struggling to reconnect with his daughter, April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan), ever since she returned home after a harrowing ordeal.

Having gone missing over Christmas, April was found after months of living on the streets and dealing with unimaginable trauma.

Though she is now back in the village, the challenges for the family are far from over—

and Marlon’s latest desperate act could shatter what little trust remains between him and his daughter.

April’s Devastating Experience

April’s disappearance sent shockwaves through the Dingle family, with Marlon relentlessly searching for her.

When she was finally found, the truth behind her time away was heartbreaking.

April had been living rough after running away from home, scared of how her family would react to her pregnancy. The young girl had tragically given birth to a stillborn baby in a gym toilet and was later found unconscious on a bench.

Since her return, Marlon has done his best to support her, but nothing he says or does seems to ease her pain. Struggling with immense grief and trauma, April has found solace in her connection with Dylan, a boy she had lived with in a squat alongside a woman named Bex, who was tragically stabbed to death.

Marlon’s Desperation Grows

Recently, April secretly visited the squat, prompting Marlon to track her down. His attempt to bring her home led to a confrontation with Dylan, further straining his already fragile relationship with April. However, Dylan ultimately encouraged April to return to her father.

Things took a turn when Dylan appeared in the village at April’s request. Initially reluctant, Marlon eventually agreed to let Dylan stay the night at Smithy Cottage after discussions with Rhona (Zoe Henry). However, Dylan comes with his own struggles, including an addiction to the dangerous drug Spice. April, wanting to help, was warned by Ross (Mike Parr) that Dylan wouldn’t be able to recover without professional help.

Marlon Crosses a Line

Tensions rise when Rhona discovers ketamine missing from the vet’s drug cabinet, and suspicion falls on Dylan. The worst seems to be confirmed when the drug is found in his pocket, leaving April devastated at the thought that Dylan may have used her to gain access to drugs.

But the situation takes a shocking turn when Marlon confesses to Rhona that he planted the drugs on Dylan himself, hoping to force him out of April’s life. His drastic action leaves Rhona horrified, but things take an even darker turn when Dylan suffers an overdose.

Marlon is consumed by guilt over what he has done. Rhona urges him to stay silent about his involvement, fearing that the truth would push April even further away. Instead, Marlon offers to pay for Dylan to enter rehab, and in return, Dylan agrees to keep quiet about what really happened.

The Moment of Truth?

Despite their secret deal, Dylan insists on seeing April before leaving for rehab, claiming he has something important to tell her. Marlon is immediately filled with dread, fearing that Dylan will reveal the truth about the planted drugs. If April finds out about her father’s betrayal, the fragile bond they have been trying to rebuild could be permanently destroyed.

Marlon’s attempt to protect his daughter may have just made things worse. If Dylan chooses to expose him, April may never be able to trust her father again. With emotions running high and April still dealing with the weight of her past trauma, this revelation could send her spiraling even further.

Will Dylan keep his word and leave quietly, or will he expose Marlon’s actions and push April away for good? One thing is certain—Marlon’s shocking betrayal has put his relationship with his daughter on the line, and the fallout could be devastating.
