Emmerdale viewers are certain that Laurel Thomas is set for a surprise new pregnancy storyline.
The character, played by Charlotte Bellamy, has been a part of the soap since 2002 and has become a firm favourite with fans. And over the years, her time in the famous Dales has not been short of drama.
So much so at that moment, as over in the village Laurel has had a rough few months. Not only did she suffer a heart attack, but she and Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) have ended their marriage.
Growing tired of Jai’s lies, Laurel demanded a divorce – something he is making as messy as possible for her. But over in the soap this week, it seems Laurel has already moved on.
This week, Laurel threw herself into organising the village’s harvest festival with vicar Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin) and his mum Claudette (Flo Wilson). Despite a few setbacks from Claudette, Laurel pushed ahead with her plan for the day – leaving Charles unhappy.
The pair later argued at Charles’ house – but things soon took a dramatic turn. After a showdown, their anger quickly turned to passion and Laurel and Charles kissed. They then took things up to the bedroom – much to the shock of fans watching at home.
“Laurel and Charles noooo. I am never going to get that vision from my head now,” said one person on X, while a second added: “Wth Laurel and Charles?!.”
A third penned: “Charles & Laurel. That was one moment when I was hoping his mother would walk in on them so we wouldn’t have to witness them grabbing one another.”
However, other viewers reckon the soap is lining up a shock pregnancy storyline for Laurel. On an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, one person mused: “Laurel will probably be pregnant in a couple months.”
Someone else replied: “Yes, I can see it too.” A third penned: “I’m calling it now, Laurel ends up pregnant and she doesn’t know who the dad is. Probably be Charles’.”
