Former Hollyoaks actress Ariana Fraval has swapped the world of television drama for an unexpected business venture—launching an environmentally friendly dog poo bag brand.

The actress, best known for her role as DI Naomi Cohen in the long-running Channel 4 soap,
has embarked on a new journey with her company, Hot Pink Poo, which offers biodegradable and compostable pet waste bags.
Fraval’s decision to leave Hollyoaks marks a significant career change, but she is not alone in making headlines from her household.

Her husband, Gregory Finnegan, who played James Nightingale on the soap for nearly a decade, also departed the show last year amid a major cast shake-up.

Ariana’s New Business Venture

At 31 years old, Ariana has spent the past year developing her innovative product after stepping away from acting. She took to Instagram to announce the launch of Hot Pink Poo, sharing her excitement with fans about the product she has meticulously designed.
“I’m SO delighted to announce that after a year of designing the perfect nappy and dog poo waste bag, which is 100% environmentally friendly, compostable, plastic-free, non-toxic, naturally scented, large, thick, and durable with handles,” she wrote.
The vibrant pink bags, now available on Amazon, have been hailed by Ariana as the “most eco-friendly and best-looking poo bag on the market.” Her goal is to make an unpleasant but necessary task a little more bearable for pet owners while contributing to environmental sustainability.
From TV Detective to Entrepreneur
Ariana first appeared in Hollyoaks in 2019 as DI Naomi Cohen, a character who played a central role in investigating some of the village’s biggest crimes. She was involved in key storylines, including the murder of Harry Thompson, the shooting of Mercedes McQueen, and Stuart Sumner’s death.

Despite her character’s serious role, fans often poked fun at DI Cohen’s habit of arresting multiple suspects, sometimes without sufficient evidence. One viewer joked, “She literally just arrests everyone at any chance she gets—surely her job would be on the line by now with all these non-convictions!” Another fan quipped, “You’d think she would have learned by now… how many mistakes has she made?”
Nevertheless, Ariana’s time on the soap gave her recognition among Hollyoaks fans, making her latest career move an intriguing one.
A Family in Transition – Gregory Finnegan’s Exit
While Ariana has been busy launching her eco-friendly business, her husband Gregory Finnegan also bid farewell to Hollyoaks after nearly ten years on the show. His departure was part of a significant storyline that saw his character, James Nightingale, caught up in a dramatic time-jump plot, culminating in a devastating car bomb explosion.
Reflecting on his exit, Finnegan admitted it wasn’t easy. Speaking to The Sun, he revealed that word of his departure spread quickly among the cast, leaving many shocked.
“People seemed surprised, which was nice in a way, but at the same time, it was quite depressing when people came up to me saying, ‘I can’t believe it, that’s ridiculous,’” he shared. “You’re just like, ‘Okay, I’ve dealt with it.’”

He also opened up about the emotional toll of leaving the soap, particularly when co-star Alex Fletcher (Diane Hutchinson) broke down in tears upon hearing the news.
“Lovely Alex Fletcher just stared at me, then she started crying, and I started crying,” he admitted. “She completely broke me, and then I was bawling. But it’s good to get it out.”
What’s Next for Ariana and Gregory?
With both Ariana and Gregory stepping away from Hollyoaks, the couple is entering a new chapter in their lives. While Gregory may return to acting in the future, Ariana appears fully invested in her new business venture, hoping to make a difference in the pet care industry.
Her brand, Hot Pink Poo, is already gaining traction among environmentally conscious pet owners. As the company grows, it will be interesting to see whether Ariana continues to expand her eco-friendly product line.
As for Hollyoaks, the show itself is facing a period of transition, with several cast changes and major plot developments shaking up the village. But while Ariana and Gregory may have left the fictional world of Chester behind, they remain very much in the public eye—this time for very different reasons.
