Hollyoaks is set to deliver a gripping and hard-hitting storyline as Rex Gallagher’s criminal activities face a significant threat in upcoming episodes.

The long-running Channel 4 soap has recently introduced a distressing plotline centered around the grooming of Dillon Ray and Frankie Osborne by a dangerous criminal gang.

This storyline sheds light on two of the most prevalent forms of teenage exploitation in the UK—drug-related grooming and sexual exploitation.

Viewers have already seen Frankie unwittingly drawn into the sinister world of recruitment,

manipulated by the mysterious Kat Omari, who has been working to bring her under Rex’s influence.

Meanwhile, Rex has been strategically isolating Dillon from his loved ones,

recently offering him free accommodation in James Nightingale’s former home as a way to gain control over him. However, the so-called generosity comes with strings attached—Rex has begun using the property to store illicit items while simultaneously leading Dillon down a dangerous path by introducing him to drugs.

In next week’s explosive episodes, tensions reach a boiling point when Frankie, feeling frustrated over her misguided belief that Darren and Kat have been romantically involved, makes a bold decision. Determined to gain independence, she announces to Nancy and Darren that she’s moving in with Dillon. At the same time, Dillon extends an invitation to Lucas to join them as another housemate.

Excited about their newfound freedom, the trio hosts a house party. However, things take a dark turn when, while cleaning up afterward, Lucas stumbles upon a spice vape. Alarmed, he confronts Dillon and Frankie, who reluctantly admit to using it.

Their troubles escalate when Rex bursts into the house, demanding to store additional bags on the property. Dillon, still somewhat naive to the true extent of Rex’s influence, questions him—only to be met with an intimidating response. Rex coldly informs Dillon that allowing him to use the house for storage is the price he must pay for living there rent-free.

The shocking revelation leaves Lucas deeply unsettled, and he makes a drastic decision. Realizing the danger they are all in, he secretly calls the police, tipping them off about Rex’s activities and the stolen goods being hidden at the property.

While Lucas’s actions may seem like a heroic stand against Rex’s criminal empire, they could also have dire consequences. Rex is not a man to be crossed, and his reaction to being exposed remains to be seen. Has Lucas just put himself in grave danger? And what will this mean for Dillon and Frankie, who are already trapped in Rex’s dangerous web?

Hollyoaks has never shied away from tackling difficult and socially relevant topics, and this latest storyline is no exception. By addressing the alarming reality of teenage exploitation, the show continues its commitment to raising awareness and sparking important conversations.

Fans can catch Hollyoaks on Mondays through Wednesdays, with episodes premiering first on Channel 4’s streaming platform at 7 am, followed by an E4 broadcast at 7 pm. Additionally, full episodes are made available on YouTube one week after their initial Channel 4 release.

As the tension builds and the stakes rise, viewers will be on the edge of their seats to see how this harrowing storyline unfolds—and whether Dillon, Frankie, and Lucas can escape Rex’s dangerous grip before it’s too late.
