General Hospital’s Bryan Craig Confesses Prank on Maurice Benard – Spills Behind-the-Scenes Morgan & Sonny Secrets

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that when Bryan Craig (Morgan Corinthos) was offered the chance to return to the ABC soap for a special episode, he had some questions.

According to a new interview with SOD, Craig was especially curious about who he’d be filming with – and the answer sealed the deal on him signing on for a comeback appearance.

Once Bryan Craig learned that he’d be working with Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos) again, that was enough to convince him it was a good idea.

Craig got on board with the one-episode gig, but he was surprised they haven’t recast Morgan by now.

However, Craig was thankful for the opportunity to reprise the role since it allowed him to play some gripping material with Benard.

Following Craig’s exit as Morgan Corinthos in 2016, he popped up in 2018 for Ava Jerome’s (Maura West) nightmare.

Craig’s latest episode involves Morgan appearing to Sonny as he deals with his bipolar disorder and suicide attempt on the hospital rooftop.

Despite the serious nature of the material, Bryan Craig managed to have some fun at the studio with Maurice Benard. In fact, Craig confessed to pulling a prank on Benard right off the bat.

Although Craig has stayed in touch with Benard and spoke to him about this return appearance in advance, he still wanted to surprise his TV dad on set.

Benard was filming some other scenes when Craig arrived on the soundstage, so he snuck behind the camera and acted like he was the director after they called cut.

“I was like, ‘Yeah, that was great. So, uh, if you could just suck a little less on the next go-round, that would be great.’ And he recognized my voice and turned toward the cameras and started laughing. So that was fun!” Craig exclaimed.

Craig also mentioned that going back to GH was kind of like stepping into a “time capsule” since his former co-stars still looked as youthful as ever.

As for Craig’s visit to the makeup room, he confessed that he had to spend a bit longer there than he used to.

It turns out Craig has some new tattoos, so they had to work harder to cover them up.

Of course, the effort was no doubt worth it once Craig was on set doing his thing. Craig called the new scenes “really powerful” and suggested that Benard was pleased with how their work came together, too.

Based on our predictions, Sonny’s vision of Morgan will save him from a grim fate, so stick with us for more updates on Craig’s August 6 appearance.
