Sonny Corinthos arrives at Carly’s home just as she’s about to bake Valentine’s Day cookies

with their daughter Donna. Carly, focused on the fun activity ahead, asks Sonny what’s going on. Sonny informs her that he and Ava Jerome have resolved their ongoing custody battle over their daughter Avery. They’ve reached a mutual agreement to share custody 50/50.

Carly, who has been through many ups and downs with Sonny, nods approvingly, telling him

that it’s great news. However, she quickly adds that she suspects there’s more to the situation than he’s letting on.
Sonny admits that there’s still some tension between him and Ava, particularly concerning their daughter, Avery, and that Kristina no longer has to endure the stress of testifying. Carly, however, can’t shake the feeling that something else is at play here. After all, Sonny had been adamant about pursuing sole custody for months. Sonny then opens up further, explaining that the situation changed due to the fire that occurred at his penthouse, which, according to his lawyer Diane, significantly affected the chances of winning the case. He also mentions that Ava misses Avery’s mother and wants to be there for her. Carly is still skeptical, not convinced that this sudden shift in Sonny’s approach to custody is entirely about Avery’s best interests.
Sonny defends his decision, revealing that the real reason he’s trying to move forward with this agreement is because someone planted a bomb in his penthouse. This bomb was not just an attack on him but also an attack on his family, and Sonny feels that he needs to uncover who was behind it in order to protect them. In addition to that, Sonny expresses that he wants to be there for their son Michael when he returns. Carly, though, is still surprised by Sonny’s willingness to compromise with Ava, given their history and the intensity of their previous conflicts. Sonny reassures her that the decision wasn’t just about making peace with Ava but about doing what’s best for Avery. He knows that, as Avery grows older, she’ll want to know her mother better, and having joint custody would ensure that she gets the opportunity to do so.
Shifting the conversation to a more personal matter, Carly asks Sonny about Jason, her ongoing conflict with Drew, and the fact that Drew had accused Jason of being the father of Sasha’s baby. Carly admits that she hasn’t yet spoken to Jason about the situation, and she wonders if she should reach out. Sonny, ever the voice of caution, suggests that they hold off and wait for Jason to contact them when he’s ready. Carly insists, however, that she can’t wait to get to the bottom of this, so she asks Sonny why she shouldn’t just call Jason herself. Sonny gently advises her to consider that Sasha might not want anyone to know about the identity of her baby’s father, especially given the sensitive nature of the situation. After all, Sasha has already suffered so much loss, and bringing more unwanted attention to the issue could make things harder for her. Carly, recognizing the wisdom in Sonny’s words, agrees to hold off and wait for Jason to make the first move.

Meanwhile, across town, Joss is grappling with her own feelings of loneliness, especially since it’s her first Valentine’s Day without Dex. She’s looking at the address given to her by Brennan’s associate and wonders what to do next. Trina, ever the supportive friend, arrives at Joss’s apartment with a bag of groceries and suggests that they cook together for a change. Joss, however, isn’t in the mood for cooking and remarks that they always order food instead of making it themselves. As Trina unpacks the groceries, she receives a text from Kai, asking if she’s free that night. Joss, sensing there’s more to the situation, asks Trina what’s really going on. Trina admits that she’s trying to make the evening special for Joss, especially since it’s the first Valentine’s Day without Dex, and also because she knows Joss still has lingering feelings for Spencer. However, Joss brushes off Trina’s concern, saying that she’s ready to move on and get back out there. In fact, she encourages Trina to pursue her budding interest in Kai.
Trina agrees, and after texting Kai back, she finds out that he’s scored reservations at one of the hottest clubs in town, The Savoy. She eagerly accepts the invitation and begins preparing for the night. Before she leaves, Joss wonders aloud if Kai knows that her father owns The Savoy. Trina isn’t sure, but she’s too excited about the date to dwell on it. As Trina heads off for her night out, Joss takes a moment to pull out a box containing Dex’s gun, a reminder of the complicated emotions she’s been wrestling with since his departure.
Back at the hospital, Willow is confronted with some unsettling news. Felicia thanks her for handling a particularly difficult patient, who, much to Willow’s surprise, happened to be an admirer of hers. Before Willow can process this, Martin arrives with a worried expression. He pulls her aside and tells her that his private investigator has been taken out of the game due to an accident. Despite this, Martin still needs dirt on Michael, and he’s determined to find something that will help his case. Willow, however, isn’t so sure. She reminds Martin that finding dirt on Michael won’t be easy, especially because she doesn’t hate him. She believes that she and Michael can work out a fair agreement about their children. Martin, ever the realist, tells Willow that’s not how divorce works, and the conversation takes a turn when Willow receives a shocking phone call. Her car has been impounded.
Meanwhile, Mac and Anna continue to discuss the ongoing investigation into Cyrus, with Anna still trying to figure out how to bring him to justice. Despite the mounting evidence against him, Anna is hesitant to take drastic measures. Liz visits Jason in the interrogation room and updates him on her and Lucky’s investigation into Cyrus, which they believe has enough evidence to put him away. Jason, however, is more concerned with his son Danny’s well-being and doesn’t think the PCPD can handle Cyrus on their own.
