General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal Lulu Spencer’s (last played Emme Rylan) liver is compromised, so her doctor had to deliver some difficult updates to Laura Collins (Genie Francis) about her daughter’s prognosis. If things get worse, Lulu’s liver could fail and leave her unable to survive.
Of course, the whole point of putting Lulu in a long-term coma was to keep her on ice for future storylines.
Some fans are worried that GH might actually kill Lulu off, but they would’ve done that years ago when the actual explosion happened if they were going to.
In other words, there’s no need to worry about this being the end of the road for Lulu.
This isn’t about getting rid of permanently; it’s about setting the stage for Lulu to wake up in the form of a recast this fall.
In the meantime, the current compromised liver storyline serves some other purposes as well.
For starters, it looks like this will be the story that puts Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson) back on-screen since he’ll indeed return during the week of August 26-30.
Lulu’s ordeal also creates a sense of urgency when it comes to finding Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) so he can bring Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez) home to see her mother.
We should also talk about Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) now that he’s suddenly back in the picture.
There’s probably a good reason why the writers are playing up Cyrus’ many visits and Bible reading time with Lulu.
Cyrus has always wanted a real family and a chance to truly connect with his dear half-sister, so he may finally get his wish.
Laura may soon have a reason to express her sincere gratitude to Cyrus for saving the day.
GH fans may recall that Cyrus was responsible for The Floating Rib getting blown up.
The injuries Lulu sustained during that explosion are what led to her landing in a comatose state.
However, Cyrus might have an opportunity for redemption if he winds up being the liver donor match who saves Lulu’s life.
Perhaps Cyrus will offer up part of his liver so that Lulu can pull through.
Based on our predictions, Cyrus could try to prove his villainous days are behind him with a heroic move, so we’ll keep you posted on any other Lulu-related news.
