The February 19, 2025, episode of General Hospital brought an intense

and chilling confrontation between Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) and Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst),

as Cyrus revealed his shocking motives and prepared to strike again.

Meanwhile, Lucky Spencer (temporarily played by Guy Wilson) made a heroic entrance, but his bravery may have come at a devastating cost.

Cyrus Corners Elizabeth With a Terrifying Confession

The tension escalated as Cyrus arrived at Elizabeth’s home, claiming he had an urgent matter to discuss.

Sensing danger, Elizabeth tried to shut the door on him, but Cyrus forced his way in, insisting that she needed to hear him out. As he stepped into her living room, Elizabeth’s fear was evident, but Cyrus feigned surprise at her reaction, pretending he expected her to be excited to see him.

“You’ve been asking about me, haven’t you?” Cyrus said with a knowing smile. “I thought I’d save you the trouble and let you ask me anything you want—face to face.”

Realizing she had no other option, Elizabeth admitted to looking into him, particularly at Turning Woods. Cyrus’s demeanor quickly darkened as he questioned what she had learned. She initially tried to get him to leave, but when that failed, she boldly confronted him with a direct question:

“Why did you try to kill Lulu?”

Rather than deflect, Cyrus openly admitted to his actions. He reasoned that his niece, Lulu Falconeri (Alexa Havins), had been in a coma for years with no sign of recovery, and he believed he was relieving her from suffering. When Elizabeth pointed out that Lulu’s mother, Laura Collins (Genie Francis), and son, Rocco, had never given up hope, Cyrus scoffed at the idea.

“What was poor Lulu enduring while they were hoping?” he snapped.

Cyrus’s Twisted Justification for His Crimes

Cyrus then took the conversation to a disturbing level, presenting his belief that his actions were not murder, but mercy. He explained that as a nurse, Elizabeth focused on the physical aspects of suffering, while he, as a man of faith, saw the spiritual side.

“You’ve seen people trapped in beds, hooked up to machines,” he reasoned. “But just because someone can be kept alive doesn’t mean they should be.”

Elizabeth countered that such decisions should be left to the patient or their family, but Cyrus argued that some people were incapable of making that choice for themselves. He claimed that while volunteering at Turning Woods, he saw people imprisoned in their own personal hells, and he believed God had chosen him to set them free.

Tears streamed down his face as he described his so-called “mission,” insisting that he was only helping people return to the light of God. He even admitted that he first attempted to end Lulu’s suffering by giving her unnecessary medication, leading to her liver failure.

“If only the Lord had taken my sweet niece then,” he sighed.

When Elizabeth pressed him about Sam McCall (ex-Kelly Monaco), Cyrus coldly explained that Sam had gotten in the way by trying to save Lulu. In his mind, eliminating Sam was simply a consequence of “obstructing the Lord’s will.” Furthermore, he admitted that killing Sam led him to discover digitalis as an effective, painless method of freeing trapped souls.

Elizabeth was horrified as she pieced together his pattern—each murder justified as part of his divine mission. When she asked about Dex Heller (Evan Hofer), Cyrus admitted that Dex had simply been too close to discovering the truth.

“So, you eliminated a witness,” Elizabeth noted. “That doesn’t sound like the will of God. That sounds like something the old Cyrus would do.”

A Deadly Move—Lucky Takes the Fall

Cyrus’s emotions overwhelmed him as he realized Elizabeth understood his reasoning. But her calm approach backfired when Cyrus took it as confirmation that nothing could jeopardize his mission. Without hesitation, he pulled out a syringe of digitalis and grabbed Elizabeth’s arm, preparing to inject her.

Before he could follow through, Lucky Spencer burst into the room, demanding that Cyrus back off. The sudden interruption gave Elizabeth the chance to escape, and she ran to call 911.

Meanwhile, a struggle broke out between Cyrus and Lucky. In the chaos, the syringe ended up in Lucky’s thigh. As Elizabeth turned back, her face went pale with horror—Lucky had been injected with digitalis.
