‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers reveal that it’s no secret that the show plans on waking up Lulu Spencer (last played by Emme Rylan), which means things are about to shake up in Dante Falconeri‘s (Dominic Zamprogna) and Sam McCall‘s (Kelly Monaco) relationship.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Dante Met Lulu As “Dominic Pirelli”
Right before Lulu fell into a coma, she was about to confess to Dante that she was still in love with him. Dante was always steadfast in his love for Lulu, but she was engaged to Dustin Phillips (Mark Lawson) before the Floating Rib exploded and he died at the hospital.
Now Dante is with Sam, and they are blissfully happy. Their blended family and cohabitation have worked well for them. But Lante fans want to see Dante and Lulu reunite.Dante and Lulu met in 2009 when Dante passed himself off as Dominic Pirelli. Luke Spencer (Tony Geary), and Laura Collins’s (Genie Francis) daughter, Lulu, was then played by actress Julie Marie Berman.
Little did Lulu know that “Dominic” was an undercover cop who came to Port Charles to take down Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), who didn’t know that Dante was his son with Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero). The mob boss shot him before Dante could arrest him.
Obviously, Dante recovered, and eventually, he and Lulu got married and had Rocco Falconeri (Finn Francis Carr). Lulu fell into a coma in November 2020, and she’s been in a coma ever since.
Dante and Sam started a romance in January 2021. They got close after Sam broke up with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). Their relationship grew over time, and it was done in a believable way.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Sam And Dante Are Happy Cohabitating (For Now)
Recently, Dominic Zamprogna spoke with Soap Opera Digest and voiced his opinion about Dante’s relationships with Sam and Lulu.
He talked about Dante being with someone who wasn’t Lulu.
“It was interesting to see who he was without her because you saw who he was before her, but then he spent so much time with her it started to feel like he was losing his identity a little bit.”
Dominic also said it was refreshing when Dante was paired with Sam.
“With Sam and Dante, there wasn’t this dependency on each other, which felt like Dante and Lulu constantly ended up having in the end. Working with someone different brings up different things in the characters, and we’ve brought out different things in each other (as actors). That’s what I enjoyed about it. And Kelly is fiery and fierce and always fun to work with.”
He continued,
“The times where we get to play that blended family element has been so interesting; it’s interesting to play a dad to a kid who isn’t your son. So, the whole thing has been great.”
When Lulu returns, she’ll be a recast, as the show has unfortunately decided not to bring Emme back. It’s a surprising turn of events, considering we always thought the actress would return when Lulu opened her eyes.We don’t yet know who will play “nuLulu” or what kind of chemistry she will have with Dante. It will be interesting to see what happens when Lulu wakes up and finally gets to tell Dante how she feels.
