Alas, poor Valentin, we knew him well. After today’s episode, it looks like his time in Port Charles and James Patrick Stuart’s time on General Hospital are up. Valentin and Charlotte just fled the coop and left Port Charles. And sadly, it may just be for good.

Valentin Cassadine And Laura Are Off To Find Nikolas

We’ve seen the writing on the wall for some time now, but after yesterday’s episode, it seemed like a lock. As soon as Anna got her hands on the satellite phone that had all the information needed to bring both Pikeman and Valentin down, his fate was sealed. She handed it over to Jason to give to John Cates — with a catch. Jason needed to buy her and Valentin time so that he could make his getaway with Charlotte.

Anna may be up for taking Pikeman down, but she still cares for Valentin and Charlotte (and the teen forgiving her for the shooting wasn’t exactly helping her guilt) and wanted them to be together. As she told Jason yesterday, Charlotte is all Valentin has.

We’ve been worried for ages that Valentin has gone too far and done too much to come back from this. And in the end, we were just down to two options: Valentin could either be hauled off to prison by John and the FBI or he and Charlotte could make their getaway and run from Port Charles (and as Anna told him, the whole country).

Fortunately, on Wednesday’s episode, we seemed to get the latter after Valentin tried to convince Anna to go with him. By the time the FBI raided his house (thanks to Jason), it was empty. Unfortunately, while it’s the kinder exit, it seems that Valentin’s time on the show is over. With that said, as of writing this, we haven’t gotten official confirmation from either the show, or James Patrick Stuart. So there’s always hope that there’s a way out of this.

General Hospital's James Patrick Stuart Defends Valentin Cassadine

Even if Agent Cates and the FBI do catch up with Valentin before he can make his getaway, we know that prison isn’t always a final sentence on General Hospital. How many times has Sonny been tossed in it? And going on the run could also be temporary if Valentin works out a way to curry favor with the authorities and get off the hook for his misdeeds.

What are your thoughts? Has Valentin finally reached the end of his rope?
