General Hospital spoilers for Monday, August 19, focus on shocks, alarming news, confrontations, and springing into action.

Alarms

Dante’s job these days — besides being the PCPD’s most valuable detective — is to attempt to be as solid as a rock for his family. The one he built with Sam and the one that comes with being the son of Sonny Corinthos.

When Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) receives alarming news, this could be about several options. 1) It’s about Lulu (a role that will be recast), who we know he continues to visit and worry about. 2) About his dad, who remains a powder keg waiting to explode. And 3) Or this one’s about Kristina (Kate Mansi — how she survived an earthquake with Chad Duell), who John Cates (Adam Harrington) arrested for attempted murder against Ava (Maura West).

Shocks

Meanwhile, Laura (Genie Francis) is in for a shock. Something that could blindside her is the fact that Scott (Kin Shriner) is taking up Heather’s crusade. The mayor finally made the decision to step back from the volatile and controversial situation and let the chips fall where they may. If this is what shocks Laura, how will she react if Heather (Alley Mills) is indeed going to trial?

Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) most certainly was shocked when Federal Agent John Cates arrested her daughter for attempted murder. What Cates doesn’t count on is Alexis obtaining her law license again. Because of this, the fierce attorney will no doubt channel her inner mama bear to fight for Kristina. Should Cates be afraid? Yes, we think he should be very afraid. Confrontations

Apparently, Cates isn’t afraid of Sonny (Maurice Benard). This arrest gives him the opportunity to goad Sonny but good. The arrogance will inevitably bite him in the butt sooner or later. You know what they say about karma. His plan is working out now, but in Port Charles, one man almost always wins. And that’s Sonny Corinthos. Your days are numbered, Cates. Do not poke the bear! (Soap Hub rates the new GH head writing team)

Finally, Jason (Steve Burton) confronts Anna (Finola Hughes). He found out interesting information from the shady pharmacist. Does he fill in Anna and let her know that she needs to arrest Ava? After all, not only has Ava known that Sonny took tampered meds, but she ordered the pharmacist to give the PC mobster placebos. Jason won’t let that lie. And Anna owes him, doesn’t she?

Monday’s episode of General Hospital had viewers on the edge of their seats with shocking developments, confrontations, and unexpected twists. Dante’s world is turned upside down when he receives alarming news, leaving him to juggle his duties as a detective and his responsibilities to his family. The news could be about Lulu, Sonny, or Kristina, each scenario more unsettling than the last. Meanwhile, Laura is blindsided by Scott’s decision to take up Heather’s crusade, a move that could have major repercussions for them both. As Alexis fights to clear Kristina’s name, tensions rise as she clashes with Federal Agent John Cates. Cates may be underestimating Alexis, who is determined to protect her daughter at all costs. Sonny, never one to back down from a challenge, finds himself in a heated confrontation with Cates as the agent taunts and provokes him. But Sonny remains unfazed, confident that karma will catch up to Cates in due time. Jason, armed with new information, confronts Anna about Ava’s treacherous actions, setting the stage for a fierce showdown.
