Agent Cates Arrests Sam & Spinelli – Enrages Jason with New Leverage?
General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Agent John “Jagger” Cates (Adam J. Harrington) will cook up a new plan and hope that it pays off. It’s clear that John isn’t giving up on taking down Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), but he’s facing some big challenges.
For starters, Sonny is getting the proper medication now, so he’s got a much clearer head and won’t be as easily goaded.
John previously tried to get under Sonny’s skin at the courthouse and provoke him into getting physical, but Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) held his dad back.
Since Sonny is no longer on placebos, John can’t expect locking him up to be that simple anymore.
Sonny should be able to rein his temper in and be smarter about avoiding meltdowns that could land him behind bars.
Agent Cates wants to get Sonny on far worse charges anyway, so he’ll need another strategy to put him in prison long-term.
However, John lost his best chance of getting Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) to turn on Sonny when the recorded evidence against Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) vanished.
Even so, John will stay focused on his Sonny takedown goal, so that brings us to the new plan we mentioned.
It looks like John will open up to Ava Jerome (Maura West) about what he has in mind before he ultimately takes action.
The week of August 12-16 will bring alarm bells for Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms).
It appears James West (Gary James Fuller) may land in another crisis, but one involving Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) could be coming up as well.
Spinelli and Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) hatched a scheme to steal Agent Cates’ credentials, which led to them accessing the leverage on Jason.
Although Spinelli couldn’t delete the evidence against Carly, he still hacked the system illegally – and Sam was his accomplice.
John knows the date when his credentials were last used to access the recording, so he may think back to that day at the pool and realize Sam was running a scam to help Spinelli.
Will John manage to score enough proof to arrest these partners in crime? GH has left a loose end dangling here, so John may realize this is a brand-new path to Jason leverage.
General Hospital spoilers say John will indeed make a stunning arrest in the August 16 episode, so Jason will fume if Agent Cates locks up Spinelli and perhaps Sam, too.
