For decades, General Hospital fans have been captivated by the World Security Bureau (WSB), the elite organization that has been at the center of countless thrilling storylines.

Introduced in the early 1980s through Robert Scorpio’s mission to stop the Cassadine family from using the Ice Princess to control the world’s climate,

the WSB has since played a crucial role in the soap’s biggest espionage plots.

Over the years, the agency has recruited legendary figures such as Anna Devane, Sean Donely, Frisco Jones, and Valentin Cassadine.

However, with its longtime agents aging out of the field, the WSB is in need of fresh recruits.

But is Josslyn Jacks really the right choice?

Josslyn Jacks: An Unlikely Candidate

Recently, Brennan, a key figure within the WSB, has set his sights on bringing Josslyn Jacks into the organization. While Joss has proven she has the courage and drive to take action in high-stakes situations, many fans are questioning whether she truly has what it takes to be an asset to an international intelligence agency.

Josslyn’s history is marked by impulsive decision-making. From her tumultuous romantic choices—such as secretly getting involved with Dex while still technically in a relationship with Cameron—to her rash decision to shoot Cyrus Renault, Joss has repeatedly shown a tendency to act first and think later. That kind of impulsiveness may serve her well in a moment of crisis, but in the world of espionage, careful planning and discretion are paramount. The WSB requires agents who can maintain control, work covertly, and make calculated moves rather than emotional ones.

Additionally, Josslyn’s background in medicine—brief as it was—does not provide a foundation for spy work. She originally pursued pre-med before changing her focus, but that does not make her a tactical or analytical mind suited for the level of complexity required by the WSB. The risks involved in the job, including undercover operations and long-term missions, also raise concerns about her medical history. Having had a kidney transplant as a child, she may face health complications that could put her in danger during high-stress situations.

A More Natural Choice: Emma Scorpio-Drake

If the WSB is truly looking for new blood, why not consider someone who is practically born for the role? Emma Scorpio-Drake has espionage in her DNA. The granddaughter of two legendary WSB agents—Robert Scorpio and Anna Devane—Emma has grown up surrounded by the world of intelligence, danger, and secrecy. In addition, her godparents, Sean Donely and Frisco Jones, were also WSB agents, further cementing her deep-rooted connection to the agency.

Unlike Josslyn, who has lived a relatively privileged life outside of major espionage entanglements, Emma’s entire upbringing has been steeped in the reality of what it means to be involved in the world of covert operations. Her mother, Robin Scorpio-Drake, was constantly targeted and kidnapped as a child because of her ties to the agency. Emma has seen firsthand what the job entails, understands the risks, and has been shaped by those experiences. If there is anyone naturally prepared for the world of the WSB, it is Emma.

Why Is Joss Being Considered?

If Josslyn is not the ideal candidate for the WSB, why is Brennan so determined to recruit her? Some speculate that his true motive isn’t about her potential as a field agent but rather about gaining leverage over Sonny Corinthos or even ingratiating himself with Carly Spencer. Josslyn’s connections to the powerful mob family could serve as an advantage for Brennan and the agency, especially if they are looking for someone who can provide an inside track to Sonny’s operations.

Alternatively, Brennan may believe that Josslyn’s fearless nature makes her moldable. If he sees raw potential in her, he may be willing to overlook her lack of training and experience, believing that the WSB can shape her into an agent over time. However, this approach is risky—especially given her unpredictable behavior and tendency to act on emotion.

The Future of the WSB in Port Charles

The WSB has long been a staple of General Hospital, adding an exciting element of espionage and intrigue to the show. If the agency is serious about rebuilding its roster, it should focus on selecting candidates with the right temperament, background, and skill set for the job. While Josslyn Jacks has demonstrated bravery in the past, that alone is not enough to justify her recruitment into such a high-level organization.

Emma Scorpio-Drake, with her family legacy and natural exposure to the world of intelligence, would be a much stronger candidate. Her analytical mind, composed nature, and deep-rooted understanding of the dangers that come with the job make her an ideal recruit.

As this storyline unfolds, it remains to be seen whether Josslyn will truly take steps toward becoming a WSB agent—or if this is simply another way for Brennan to manipulate the people of Port Charles for his own agenda. Regardless, General Hospital fans are in for another thrilling ride.
