Rose Jackson’s scheme in Emmerdale has spectacularly failed, putting her in real danger.
Ruby Fox Milligan is determined to finish what her husband Caleb started—destroying Kim Tate.
While Caleb had his son Nicky infiltrate Home Farm as a nanny, Ruby has enlisted Rose, who owes her a lot of money after being bailed out of significant debts.
Ruby constantly reminds Rose of this debt whenever she hesitates in their arrangement.
Rose, who is Will Taylor’s ex and the mother of his daughter Dawn, finds herself in a complex situation.
She has grown close to Dawn, who needs her support as her son Evan is seriously ill with leukemia. Rose has also become fond of her other grandchildren, Clemmie and Lucas.
In the episode airing on Monday, July 15, Ruby pressures Rose to deliver results at Home Farm.
Rose spots an opportunity after eavesdropping on a conversation between Will and Kim about Kim covering for Billy’s drunken mishap, which may have caused Evan’s infection. Kim had blamed Dawn for bringing in germs after a business meeting at a hotel, and Will reluctantly agreed to keep the truth from Dawn. Later, Rose thanked Kim for her support and praised her for being in Dawn’s life, admitting she wished she had been more like Kim in the past. She also mentioned quitting drinking, which impressed Will but left Kim suspicious.
After a phone call with Ruby, Rose finds herself alone with Will. She pretends to be upset, talking about how she feels like she’s been given a second chance with the family. As Will prepares to leave, Rose makes a move, leaning in to k.i.s.s him. Will’s reaction is not what she hoped for—he is furious and demands to know what’s wrong with her before storming out.
Later, Rose tries to talk to Will, who angrily insists he has done nothing to encourage her. She confesses she felt something between them, but Will firmly states he loves his wife and nothing will come between them. Desperate to prevent him from telling Kim, Rose suggests it could make Kim feel insecure and cause Dawn to spiral. However, “insecure” is not a word typically associated with Kim Tate—”vengeful” is more fitting.
Now that Rose has revealed her hand, she should be very worried indeed about Kim finding out about her latest ploy. Kim is not one to take betrayal lightly, and Rose’s position within the family is now precarious.
Meanwhile, other Emmerdale storylines unfold: Laurel and Jai set aside their differences to honor Rishi’s memory, and tensions rise as Mandy confides in Rhona about her financial troubles. Billy decides to come clean to Dawn about a secret he has been keeping, hoping for her forgiveness. Additionally, Samson D.i.n.g.l.e’s potential departure looms as he faces the consequences of his actions, stirring up drama among the D.i.n.g.l.e.s and leaving the family in turmoil.
As the week progresses, viewers will witness the fallout from Rose’s failed plan and the ripple effects it has on the rest of the characters in Emmerdale. Will Rose manage to evade Kim’s wrath, or will her past mistakes catch up with her? Stay tuned to find out.
