Earlier this year, it was revealed newcomer Ella had a dark secret, having killed her friend when they were both 11 years old.
Ella – was previously known as Ruth – was sent to prison for the crime but fled the village after new boyfriend Liam discovered the truth.
She recently returned to Emmerdale to collect the rest of her things, before being spotted by Mandy Dingle.
However in upcoming scenes, it seems Ella has more secrets she needs to share.
Bolstered by Mandy’s support, Ella considers telling Liam the news that she’s pregnant with his baby.
Meanwhile, Liam opens up to Chas Dingle – who he had a fling with earlier this year
– about his concern over Ella’s return to the village but reassures her he’s still eager to finish their planned drink.
They both clearly hold a torch for each other but soon, when Ella suffers a funny turn on Main Street, Liam’s astounded to hear that she is pregnant.
As Liam blurts the news in the pub, Chas is gutted, while Ella’s saddened by Liam’s angry reaction.
The next day Chas supports Liam as he struggles to comprehend the concept of being a father again.
When Ella tries to talk to Liam he refuses to answer his door.
The next day Mandy is annoyed to hear Liam has refused to talk to Ella and heads to give him a piece of her mind.
Later Ella is humiliated when he forces her to do a pregnancy test to ensure she’s telling the truth…
Will the pair be able to find a way forward? And what will a baby mean for Liam and Chas’ potential romance?
