Support has poured in from her former Emmerdale co-stars, with Daisy Campbell,

who played Amelia Spencer on the show before leaving in 2023, showing her love for Eden’s trip.

Daisy commented on one of Eden’s posts, calling her “Beautiful Eden” and later adding, “Bliss.” This sweet exchange comes after a tumultuous on-screen relationship between their characters, where Belle’s traumatic experiences with Tom King caused friction between her and Amelia.

Eden’s Long-Running Role as Belle Dingle

Eden joined Emmerdale at just eight years old, taking over the role of Belle Dingle in 2005 from Emily Mather. Over the past two decades, Eden has become one of the show’s most iconic characters, and her portrayal of Belle has seen her navigate numerous dramatic and intense storylines. Belle’s evolution from a young girl in the village to a woman who has fought through numerous personal struggles has kept fans invested in her journey.

One of Belle’s most recent and harrowing storylines involved her marriage to Tom King. Tom subjected her to psychological and physical abuse, manipulating her and alienating her from loved ones. His actions led to a chilling campaign of coercive control that left Belle living in fear. In one particularly disturbing scene, Tom inflicted physical violence on Belle, running her arm under scalding hot water after discovering she had been secretly taking birth control.

Belle’s Fight for Justice

The trauma Belle faced at the hands of Tom King led to a powerful and heart-wrenching storyline that culminated in Tom’s conviction. Tom’s violent actions and gaslighting behavior were depicted in a raw and realistic manner, illustrating the devastating impact of domestic abuse. In one intense moment, Belle was forced to strike Tom with an axe as she fled from him, ultimately landing him in the hospital.

After months of terror, Belle eventually received justice, as Tom was sentenced to three years in prison for his actions. The storyline not only highlighted the struggles that many people face in abusive relationships but also offered a sense of catharsis for viewers who had watched Belle’s journey unfold.

In recent episodes, Belle continued to deal with the aftermath of Tom’s abuse, becoming increasingly concerned about her safety and the well-being of those around her. A particular moment involved Belle suspecting that Jacob’s friend Rich was trying to spike her drink, leading to a tense episode where Noah unwittingly drank the tainted beverage and ended up in the hospital.

Behind the Scenes: Eden’s Support Network

Throughout her time on Emmerdale, Eden has built strong friendships with her co-stars, and her recent holiday has clearly been a time for her to unwind and reconnect with herself outside the pressures of the show. The friendship between Eden and Daisy Campbell is especially heartwarming, as the two have supported each other on and off the screen. Despite their characters’ on-screen animosity, which came to a head when Tom pursued a relationship with Amelia while continuing to abuse Belle, Eden and Daisy’s off-screen bond remains strong.

Amelia Spencer, portrayed by Daisy, was one of Belle’s key rivals during the storyline involving Tom’s abusive behavior. However, after Tom’s conviction, Amelia left the village with her daughter, seeking a fresh start and leaving behind the turbulent drama that had consumed her life in the Dales. Meanwhile, Eden’s Belle has remained in the village, still processing the trauma of her marriage to Tom, but with a newfound strength that has helped her move forward.

A Bright Future Ahead

As Eden enjoys her time away, it’s clear that both her character and the actress behind Belle Dingle have captured the hearts of Emmerdale fans. Eden’s portrayal of Belle has been nothing short of stellar, and her ability to tackle such complex and difficult storylines has cemented her as one of the most respected actresses in British soap.

With her holiday providing a much-needed break, it’s likely that fans will see more captivating performances from Eden as Belle continues to navigate the challenges life throws her way in the Dales. As always, Eden’s journey, both on and off-screen, remains one to watch closely, and it’s clear she will continue to thrive in her career while maintaining strong relationships with her co-stars, such as Daisy Campbell, who continues to support her every step of the way.
