EastEnders viewers have been left speculating about yet another potential exit following the soap’s explosive 40th-anniversary storyline.

With two characters already meeting their tragic end, fans are now convinced that a third departure is looming—this time, it could be Ruby Allen who bids farewell to Walford.

The speculation has been fueled by a recent social media interaction between EastEnders actors, which eagle-eyed fans believe is a subtle clue hinting at Ruby’s departure.

With her partner Martin Fowler (James Bye) tragically killed in the show’s live episode,

it seems increasingly likely that Ruby, played by Louisa Lytton, might take their son Roman and leave Albert Square for good.

Martin’s Death Sparks Ruby’s Possible Exit

Ruby’s return to EastEnders was already filled with drama, as she shocked Martin with the revelation that she had secretly given birth to their son, Roman, during her time away. Despite their history, their reunion was overshadowed by the fact that Martin’s heart still belonged to his former love, Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner).

During the dramatic anniversary episode, Martin’s true feelings became painfully clear. In the final moments before he was crushed beneath the rubble of The Queen Vic, he made a heartbreaking confession—declaring his love for Stacey and even proposing to her.

Outside the pub, Ruby was left devastated upon realizing that Martin was gone, while inside, Stacey’s anguished cries echoed throughout Albert Square. Now, with Martin no longer in the picture and his affections for Stacey laid bare in his final moments, it seems only natural that Ruby might choose to leave Walford behind.

Cryptic Social Media Interaction Fuels Speculation

While Ruby’s potential departure makes sense within the storyline, fans are even more convinced after spotting a telling interaction on Instagram.

Louisa Lytton recently posted a series of throwback photos featuring her EastEnders colleagues. Among the many comments, one stood out—Jamie Borthwick, who plays Jay Brown, left a message saying, “You miss me don’t you.”

Although Jamie’s character remains a firm fixture in Walford with no signs of leaving, some fans interpreted his comment as a subtle hint that Louisa might be stepping away from her role.

This has only added fuel to the fire, with viewers now wondering whether Ruby’s time on the Square is coming to an end.

Is a Triple Departure on the Cards?

The idea of Ruby leaving is further supported by the fact that Lacey Turner, who plays Stacey, is set to go on maternity leave later this year. While she has only just returned to the soap for its milestone anniversary, her upcoming exit could mean that both Stacey and Ruby will be written out in some way.

This has led some fans to speculate that both women—along with baby Roman—could be heading for the exit together. Could Ruby decide to leave Walford in an attempt to move on from Martin, only for Stacey to join her temporarily?

Social media has been flooded with theories, with one viewer stating, “Ruby will leave. It makes sense now.”

Another fan added, “Ruby will probably leave as she knows that Martin had chosen Stacey.”

A third commented, “It would make sense for Ruby to leave alone with Roman.”

The Perfect Time for Ruby to Say Goodbye?

Interestingly, some fans had already predicted that Ruby’s return might be short-lived—even before Martin’s tragic fate was sealed. Given that EastEnders was celebrating its 40th (or “Ruby”) anniversary, there was speculation that this symbolic connection could hint at Ruby’s departure.

Now, with Martin’s death sending shockwaves through the Square and Louisa Lytton’s social media activity raising eyebrows, it seems more likely than ever that Ruby’s time in Walford is drawing to a close.

Whether she leaves quietly with Roman or has one final dramatic showdown before departing remains to be seen. However, one thing is clear—if she does leave, her exit will mark yet another major shake-up for EastEnders in what has already been a monumental year for the soap.
