The teen scene in General Hospital is thriving,

with younger characters like Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), Emma (Braedyn Bruner), Jake (Hudson West), and Aiden (Colin Cassidy) stepping into the spotlight.

As the next generation of Port Charles continues to develop, Aiden has had his fair share of personal challenges—most notably,

coming out to his father, Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson), after years of separation.

Lucky’s return to town after nearly two decades was a major moment for Aiden, who worried about how his father would react to the news.

Fortunately, Lucky embraced his son without hesitation, proving that no time or distance could change the unconditional love he had for Aiden.

Since then, the two have been reconnecting and making up for lost time.

However, for Colin Cassidy, playing Aiden isn’t just about delivering lines and showing up on set—it’s about fully stepping into the character in a way that feels authentic. And for him, that means mastering one very important skill that has been a staple of Aiden’s personality for years.

The Journey to Playing Aiden

In a recent interview with Soap Opera Digest, Cassidy reflected on how meaningful it was to land the role of Aiden on General Hospital. He recalled the excitement he and his family felt when he was cast, as well as the nerves that came with joining such a long-running, fast-paced show.

Fortunately, he wasn’t left to navigate the process alone. His on-screen mother, Rebecca Herbst (Elizabeth Webber), immediately took him under her wing and helped him adjust to life on a soap set.

“Becky came right up to me and very calmly, very professionally, very lovingly, showed me the ropes of what it means to work on a soap,” Cassidy explained. “She guided me through the whole process, from blocking and rehearsals to where to go for hair and makeup.”

Herbst’s kindness and guidance made all the difference, and Cassidy now views her as a “motherly figure” both on and off screen. That first day on set set the tone for what has since become a strong TV mother-and-son dynamic, which fans have quickly come to appreciate.

But Herbst wasn’t the only co-star who helped Cassidy settle in. He also credited Giovanni Mazza (Gio) and Katelyn MacMullen (Willow) with making him feel at home on set. He recalled a moment when MacMullen found him feeling overwhelmed and reassured him that he was doing a great job.

“It’s really such an amazing cast and crew; everyone there is really incredible,” Cassidy shared, expressing gratitude for the support he’s received.

Aiden’s Signature Talent: Baking

For longtime General Hospital viewers, one of Aiden’s defining traits has always been his love for baking. Ever since he was little, his passion for creating sweet treats has been a key part of his personality. And while Cassidy loves baking in real life, he admits that he still has some work to do if he wants to match Aiden’s skill level.

“I need to step up my baking game,” Cassidy admitted. “I’m definitely not at the level that Aiden is with baking.”

While he used to bake frequently with his mom, moving to Los Angeles for the show has made it harder for him to keep up the hobby. To make matters worse, his oven is currently broken, putting a temporary halt to his baking plans. However, he’s determined to fix it and get back to honing his skills.

What’s Next for Aiden?

Aiden’s story on General Hospital is only beginning to unfold. With his father back in town, his relationships evolving, and his future in Port Charles taking shape, there’s plenty more to come for the young character.

Meanwhile, Cassidy is committed to bringing authenticity to Aiden, whether it’s through deep emotional scenes or perfecting his baking talents off-screen. Fans can’t wait to see what’s next for Aiden—and whether Cassidy’s renewed dedication to baking will pay off in his performance.

One thing is clear: both Aiden and Cassidy are determined to keep growing, and General Hospital viewers will be watching every step of the way.
