Emmerdale’s executive producer has revealed when the domestic abuse storyline involving Tom King and Belle Dingle will conclude.

Throughout this year, beloved character Belle Dingle, portrayed by Eden Taylor-Droper,
has been embroiled in a harrowing domestic abuse plot with her new spouse, Tom, played by James Chase.
Belle and Tom, former lovers, reignited their relationship last year and subsequently got hitched.

However, audiences have witnessed Tom, the son of notorious Carl King, mistreating Belle.

His campaign of abuse intensified upon discovering that she had terminated their unborn child. Initially,

Belle misled Tom by asserting she had experienced a miscarriage, but he eventually discovered the truth and was furious.
Emmerdale’s producer, Laura Shaw, has now confirmed when this storyline will wrap up, with actor James Chase hinting at an exit for his despicable character, suggesting that he “can’t get away” with the harm he has inflicted on Belle.
Speaking about the duration of the plot, producer Laura Shaw told Metro: “We said right from the beginning that we wanted to tell this story as authentically and truthfully as we can.”

She continued: “Let’s face it, for people who are subjected to domestic abuse this isn’t something that’s over in a couple of weeks, it’s something that goes on for a long length of time and we wanted to be truthful to that.”
She concluded: “I think you can expect that this storyline is going to run until the end of this year.”
Laura spoke about the future of her Emmerdale plot, remarking that the team have “always had a good idea in our heads” regarding how the storyline will wrap up.

Moreover, James, who plays Tom, hinted that his character’s days in the village might be numbered. He commented: “He can’t get away with it.”
Adding to the suspense, he said: “I don’t know to what extent that would be, or how the storyline would end but I would think it would have to be something like that because she needs justice for what’s happened to her.”
