Tensions in EastEnders hit a boiling point on Thursday as Zack Hudson (James Farrar)

delivered a chilling warning to Teddy Mitchell (Roland Manookian), further escalating the mystery surrounding Harry Mitchell’s (Elijah Holloway) missing ex-girlfriend, Shireen. The tangled web of secrets and lies surrounding the Mitchell family continues to unravel,

leaving fans questioning who they can trust — and whether Zack himself may be in grave danger.

The drama began after Harry and his mother, Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington), arrived in Albert Square last year. It wasn’t long before residents learned about Harry’s ex-girlfriend Shireen’s sudden and unexplained disappearance. Whispers quickly spread, with many speculating that Harry might have played a role in whatever happened to her. These suspicions gained momentum when Harry ended up feuding with Jack Branning (Scott Maslen), leading to his arrest. However, Nicola swooped in to protect her son, providing a false alibi to secure his release.

Things took an even darker turn earlier this week when Nicola made a shocking confession to Zack — she claimed her ex-husband, Teddy, was the one who killed Shireen. This revelation wasn’t entirely straightforward, though. Nicola appeared to have her own agenda, seemingly using the bombshell to manipulate Zack. She hoped to stop him from revealing the truth to Teddy — that Zack is the biological father of her teenage son, Barney Mitchell (Lewis Bridgeman). Nicola’s tactics left Zack torn, unsure whether her claims were truthful or simply another layer in her web of deception.

Thursday’s episode brought new perspectives and heightened the tension even further. While Zack wrestled with Nicola’s confession, others began to reinforce the idea that Teddy might indeed be dangerous — and guilty. Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), who was recently dumped by Teddy after her affair with Grant Mitchell (Ross Kemp) came to light, took matters into her own hands. Determined to uncover the truth, she dug into Shireen’s disappearance, uncovering compelling evidence that painted Teddy in an increasingly suspicious light.

Realizing just how much danger Zack might be in, Sharon pleaded with him to stay quiet about Barney’s paternity. She feared that, if Teddy found out, Zack could meet the same fate as Shireen. Despite Sharon’s urgent warnings, Zack remained defiant. He refused to back down, convinced he could handle whatever came his way.

But his confidence began to waver after an emotional conversation with Penny Branning (Kitty Castledine). Penny, who had her own history with the Mitchell family, shared a chilling account of her experiences. She admitted she had investigated Shireen’s disappearance while dating Harry and had witnessed firsthand just how ruthless the Mitchells could be. Penny confessed that she had been genuinely afraid of what they might do to her if she got too close to the truth. She urged Zack to think carefully before confronting Teddy, warning him that this wasn’t a battle he could win on bravado alone.

The episode reached its breaking point when Zack and Teddy crossed paths at the Albert. Tensions boiled over as the two men squared up to each other, their hostility from a previous brawl still raw. Though Zack stopped himself from revealing the truth about Barney, he left Teddy with a sinister parting shot: “It will keep…”

The loaded statement left viewers on edge. Is Zack planning something bigger — or was he simply trying to rattle Teddy? More importantly, has Zack just made himself Teddy’s next target?

As the plot thickens, questions continue to pile up. Did Teddy really kill Shireen, or is Nicola using Zack as a pawn in her own twisted game? Could Teddy’s violent nature be a cover for someone else’s sinister actions? And with Zack walking a dangerous line, how long can he keep the truth about Barney under wraps before the whole thing explodes?

Fans won’t have to wait long for answers. Next week promises to raise the stakes even higher when Shireen’s brother makes a surprise arrival in Walford, determined to confront Harry and uncover the truth about his sister’s disappearance. One thing’s for sure — the Mitchells’ secrets are starting to surface, and when they do, no one in Albert Square will be safe.
