In a major daytime shakeup, it was announced on March 11 that Billy Flynn, after an

impressive ten-year run as Chad DiMera on Days of Our Lives, is officially moving to The Young and the Restless. According to Soap Opera Digest, Flynn is set to debut later this spring in an entirely new, original role. While details about his character remain under wraps,

this leaves fans buzzing with speculation — and naturally, we’ve cooked up a few intriguing

theories about who he might play and how he could shake things up in Genoa City.

One compelling possibility is that Flynn’s character could somehow be connected to Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), a man known for pulling strings and playing chess with people’s lives like pieces on a board. The big question is — would Flynn’s new character be an ally or an adversary to The Mustache?

Our first theory suggests that Flynn might step into the story as a covert operative working under Victor’s orders. It’s no secret Victor is fiercely opposed to the budding romance between his granddaughter Claire (Hayley Erin) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) son. Victor never misses a chance to meddle when it comes to protecting his family’s legacy — even if it means blowing up relationships to do so. What if Victor, tired of waiting for Kyle and Claire to implode on their own, hires Flynn’s character to subtly charm Claire away from Kyle? It wouldn’t be the first time Victor orchestrated a breakup from the shadows.

Perhaps this new mystery man is designed to be the perfect match for Claire — someone who checks all of Victor’s boxes. He could come across as charming, ambitious, and trustworthy, a far cry from Victor’s perception of Kyle as a weak, entitled Abbott. Victor might believe that by introducing Claire to a more “suitable” partner, he’s protecting her from future heartbreak — and striking a blow at Jack in the process.

If this theory pans out, it might feel a bit predictable, especially since another contender for Claire’s heart has already entered the picture: Holden (Nathan Owens). Claire and Holden shared a memorable, flirtatious first meeting at the Athletic Club bar, setting the stage for a potential slow-burn romance if Claire and Kyle inevitably part ways. Flynn’s arrival as a third wheel in this dynamic could complicate things — but part of us can’t help but root for Claire and Holden’s chemistry to take center stage instead.

Our second, and arguably more exciting, theory takes a darker turn. What if Flynn’s character is none other than Aristotle Dumas — the elusive, powerful businessman recently mentioned in connection to Victor’s ongoing investigations?

Let’s rewind. A few weeks ago, Lily (Christel Khalil) discreetly asked Victor to dig into Damian (Jermaine Rivers), though she kept the true motivation — her concern for Nate (Sean Dominic) — under wraps. Victor obliged and soon discovered a stunning twist: Damian isn’t actually the owner of his companies. He’s merely a figurehead, while the real power behind the throne is Aristotle Dumas, a name that carries an air of mystery and danger.

Victor described Aristotle as a businessman who’s always ahead of the curve — perhaps too far ahead. He hinted that Aristotle’s success may stem from either sheer genius or a willingness to toe the line between legal and illegal dealings. Behind the scenes, Victor ordered Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) to dig deeper into Aristotle’s background.

Now imagine this: Michael’s investigation triggers alarms, and Aristotle gets wind that Victor is poking around in his affairs. If Aristotle is as savvy and ruthless as Victor implies, he wouldn’t sit back and let Newman Enterprises dismantle his empire. Instead, Aristotle could make his way to Genoa City to confront Victor directly — not just to protect his secrets, but to dismantle Victor’s empire from the inside out.

Flynn’s sharp charisma and ability to play both hero and villain would make him the perfect Aristotle. He could present himself as a charming, polished businessman, earning the trust of Genoa City’s elite while secretly plotting against Victor. We’d love to see this storyline unfold, especially if Aristotle manages to outmaneuver Victor — even temporarily. After all, Victor has spent the better part of the past year emerging unscathed from every battle. Watching him face a cunning, younger adversary who isn’t afraid to play dirty could be exactly the shakeup the Newman patriarch needs.

Of course, these are just theories for now. Flynn’s new role could take an entirely different direction — perhaps one we haven’t even considered yet. But whether he’s a secret Newman operative, a suave heartbreaker, or the formidable Aristotle Dumas, one thing’s for sure: Billy Flynn’s arrival in Genoa City is bound to make waves.
