The residents of Albert Square are about to be shaken by a gripping new storyline as the search for a missing character takes centre stage in upcoming EastEnders episodes.

The soap has been reeling from the tragic Queen Vic explosion that claimed the lives of Martin Fowler and Reiss Colwell,

but another mystery is set to unfold as questions surrounding the disappearance of Shireen Bashar resurface.

Shireen, the former girlfriend of Harry Mitchell, has not been seen on screen and has only been mentioned in passing since her disappearance was reported in October.

With speculation running high that the Mitchells—especially Harry’s father, Teddy—are hiding a dark secret,

next week’s episodes will see tensions rise as the storyline takes a dramatic turn.

Tensions Boil Over as the Anniversary Approaches

Monday (March 17) marks the four-year anniversary of Shireen’s disappearance, and emotions run high when her brother, Asad, arrives at No.1 Albert Square. Surprisingly, Asad tells Harry that he no longer believes he had anything to do with Shireen’s vanishing, offering a momentary relief for Harry. However, the situation quickly escalates when Nicola, determined to support Harry, organizes a vigil for Shireen at Harry’s Barn. The event takes a dramatic turn when Asad publicly accuses Teddy of being involved in Shireen’s disappearance, leading to a heated confrontation. Harry steps in to defend his father, but doubts begin to creep in as he later pleads with Teddy to tell him the truth.

Meanwhile, Nicola takes it upon herself to investigate further, tracking down a mysterious figure named Benji to gather information about Shireen’s whereabouts. The search for answers continues to deepen, and secrets threaten to unravel as Nicola’s inquiries lead her closer to dangerous territory.

Family Drama, Grief, and Unexpected Confessions

At the same time, the fallout from the Queen Vic explosion continues to affect Walford’s residents. Jean Slater tries to extend her support to Ruby Allen by helping plan Martin Fowler’s funeral, but Ruby resists her involvement. Kathy Beale steps in as a mediator, offering guidance and eventually helping Jean and Ruby come to an uneasy agreement about the funeral arrangements.

Elsewhere, Nigel struggles to cope with the progression of his dementia, leading to an emotional breakdown in front of Linda Carter. His vulnerability becomes even more apparent when he mistakenly refers to Lexi Pearce as Clare, prompting Lexi to misinterpret his words and assume that her grandfather, Phil Mitchell, is dead. This misunderstanding sends shockwaves through the Mitchell family, as Lexi runs to Billy, devastated by the thought that she has lost her grandad.

Secrets, Betrayals, and Hidden Agendas

On Tuesday (March 18), Nicola finds herself isolated from Harry, who is deeply affected by Shireen’s anniversary. Meanwhile, Teddy arranges a meeting with Junior to discuss a secret business deal, adding another layer of intrigue to the unfolding drama. Later, Nicola is summoned to Walford East by Ravi Gulati, who warns her about a dangerous batch of drugs circulating in the area. Things take a darker turn when Teddy catches Nicola on the phone with a suspected drug dealer, forcing her to confess her involvement in the situation.

As Harry struggles with his emotions, he makes a reckless decision to drown his sorrows at The Albert. In a drunken haze, he picks a fight with Felix Baker, causing a scene and prompting Nicola and Teddy to intervene. Once home, Nicola seizes the opportunity to manipulate Teddy, urging him to step away from Junior’s business plans—but Teddy remains steadfast in his decision.

The Truth About Phil Mitchell

On Wednesday (March 19), Lexi continues to press Billy and Honey for answers about Phil, demanding to know whether her worst fears are true. As emotions boil over, Billy confronts Nigel, angry that he nearly let slip the truth. At the Boxing Den, Honey and Sharon find Billy, urging him to let Callum be the one to explain everything to Lexi. Later, Billy swallows his pride and makes amends with Callum and Lexi at the café before they, along with Linda and Nigel, visit Phil’s mental health facility, finally bringing some clarity to the situation.

Meanwhile, tensions continue to simmer in the Mitchell household as Teddy confesses to Sharon that he still has feelings for her, despite her recent affair with Grant. But just as emotions come to a head, Teddy secretly reaches out to Junior to finalize their business deal, deliberately keeping Nicola in the dark. Meanwhile, Amy and Avani attempt to help Lily manage her grief, showing that while secrets may divide some in Albert Square, others find strength in supporting each other.

As the search for Shireen intensifies, the next few weeks promise to deliver explosive revelations, heart-wrenching drama, and shocking betrayals in EastEnders.
