Coronation Street has been home to many famous faces over the years, and for Sam Aston, the show has been a huge part of his life since he joined as a child actor.

A Soap Star Since Childhood
Sam Aston is best known for playing Chesney Brown, a role he took on in 2003 when he was just 10 years old.
His character, Chesney, is the son of Cilla Battersby-Brown and the half-brother of Fiz Stape.
Over the years, viewers have watched him grow up on screen, taking on major storylines, from family struggles to becoming a father of quads.
Before landing the role of Chesney, Sam had already started building his career in television. His acting journey began when he was just five years old with an extra role in Eddie Mountain. He later appeared in Where the Heart Is and The Bill before getting his big break on Coronation Street. Just a year after joining the soap, he won the National Television Award for Best Newcomer.

Away from his career, Sam found love with Briony, a yoga teacher and birth doula. Their love story began when they were teenagers, chatting over MSN Messenger. However, their young romance didn’t last at the time, and Sam ended things.
Years later, fate brought them back together at the Carol Godby Theatre Workshop in Bury, where they were both helping out. The reunion reignited their relationship, and after reconnecting over dinner at a country pub, they became inseparable.
In 2017, Sam made a grand gesture by proposing to Briony in front of 250 people at a charity golf dinner he hosted alongside his Coronation Street co-stars. Two years later, in May 2019, the couple tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony at Stock Farm, on the edge of Tatton Park in Cheshire.
Growing Their Family
Since their wedding, Sam and Briony have built a family together. Their first child, Sonny James, was born prematurely in August 2020. Two years later, they welcomed their daughter, Daisy Josephine, in May 2022.
However, their journey to expanding their family hasn’t been without heartbreak. Briony bravely shared that she had suffered two miscarriages, one due to Vanishing Twin Syndrome. This condition occurs when one of the twins stops developing, and the embryo is reabsorbed by the mother’s body. Briony revealed that an early scan was the only reason they knew about the lost twin, as there were no other signs.
Despite the difficulties, the couple remained hopeful, and in 2024, they announced the arrival of their third child, a baby girl named Hazel Marie Aston. She was born on May 7, weighing 8lbs 15oz. In a heartwarming family moment, Sonny and Daisy took part in a special birth ritual, holding a candle next to Hazel’s umbilical cord and placenta to welcome their new sibling into the world.

From his early days as a child actor to becoming a husband and father, Sam Aston’s life has been full of exciting milestones.
