As a longtime General Hospital fan, I’ve learned to accept that not every storyline will unfold the way I hope.

That doesn’t mean I won’t nitpick about certain aspects of the show, especially when a plotline feels unresolved or overlooked.

While GH continues to deliver high-stakes drama, there’s one major issue I can’t ignore—

Valentin Cassadine has yet to face true consequences for one of his most despicable actions.

Valentin’s Actions Put Sonny’s Life in Danger

Let’s talk about the elephant in the room: Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) deliberately tampered with Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) bipolar medication,

setting off a dangerous chain of events. By interfering with Sonny’s treatment, Valentin effectively turned his world upside down.

Sonny spiraled out of control, becoming a threat to both his loved ones and himself.

His erratic behavior led to him brutally attacking Dex (Evan Hofer) and nearly taking his own life. While Ava Jerome (Maura West) played a role in making matters worse, it was Valentin who initiated this downward spiral. Yet, despite the catastrophic impact of his actions, he has managed to evade any real repercussions.

Why Has Valentin Been Allowed to Escape Justice?

For months, General Hospital has skirted around the issue, shifting focus to other aspects of Valentin’s storyline. His on-again, off-again romance with Anna Devane (Finola Hughes), his run-ins with the WSB, and the ongoing drama surrounding Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandez) have taken center stage. But what about his unresolved conflict with Sonny?

Given Sonny’s history, it’s hard to believe he would let this kind of betrayal slide. This is a man who has never hesitated to make someone pay for threatening his family or interfering in his life. Why, then, has Valentin been given a free pass?

Sure, he’s had his fair share of troubles lately, but none of them have stemmed from the fact that he nearly destroyed Sonny’s life. That is a loose end that General Hospital needs to tie up.

Will Valentin Finally Be Forced to Answer for His Crimes?

With Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) back in the mix, there’s a strong possibility that Valentin’s time is running out. During the week of March 3, Jason learned that Charlotte had reached out to Rocco (Finn Carr), which could ultimately lead to Valentin’s return to Port Charles. If Jason gets involved, there’s no doubt he’ll be gunning for answers—and possibly justice.

At the same time, Valentin is on the WSB’s radar. Jack Brennan (Chris L. McKenna) and his team are actively hunting him down, which means Valentin could face danger before Sonny even gets the chance to deal with him. While some fans may prefer to see the WSB take him out, I’d much rather see Valentin come back to town and be forced to face the people he has wronged—starting with Sonny.

How Should Sonny Handle Valentin?

If and when Valentin returns to Port Charles, Sonny will have a choice to make. In the past, his response to betrayal has been swift and brutal. If this were the Sonny of old, Valentin wouldn’t stand a chance. But GH has been hinting at a shift in Sonny’s character, with discussions about him possibly leaving the mob life behind. If that’s the case, his reaction to Valentin could be different than what we’ve come to expect.

Perhaps rather than taking violent action, Sonny will choose another method of retaliation. Publicly exposing Valentin’s crimes, cutting off all ties with him, or even using his power and influence to ensure he faces legal consequences would all be fitting punishments. But whatever happens, there needs to be some kind of reckoning.

Valentin’s Storyline Needs Closure

For General Hospital to truly do this storyline justice, Valentin cannot be allowed to simply move past what he did. Sonny, Jason, and the rest of Port Charles deserve to see him answer for his actions. Whether that means a confrontation, a public downfall, or something even more dramatic, it’s time for this chapter to come to a proper close.

Fans have waited long enough—now it’s time for General Hospital to deliver.
