If you were looking forward to catching the latest drama from the cobbles of Weatherfield, you’ll have to wait a little longer.

Coronation Street has been pulled from its usual Friday evening slot, leaving fans wondering why their beloved soap isn’t on TV tonight.

Why is Coronation Street Not Airing Tonight?

Coronation Street was scheduled to air at 8pm this evening but has been temporarily removed from ITV’s programming.

Instead, the channel will be broadcasting live coverage of the UEFA Women’s Nations League.

The football match, which kicks off at 7:30pm and runs until 10:00pm, has taken priority over the soap. In anticipation of this schedule change,

an additional episode of Coronation Street was aired earlier this week on Tuesday, February 18, to compensate for the missing Friday installment.

This isn’t the first time that Coronation Street fans have had to endure a scheduling shake-up. Earlier this month, ITV devoted nearly three hours of its evening lineup to FA Cup coverage, leading to yet another delay for the long-running soap. In addition, the show was also pulled on January 31 to make way for the Rugby Six Nations Championship.

When Will Coronation Street Return?

The good news is that Coronation Street won’t be off the air for long. The soap is set to return to its regular schedule on Monday, February 24, 2025, at 8pm. Typically, Coronation Street airs every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 8pm on ITV.

However, fans should brace themselves for yet another disruption. On Friday, February 28, ITV will once again reshuffle its schedule to accommodate live FA Cup coverage, which will air from 7:30pm until 10:25pm. This means another temporary absence for Corrie.

Recent Developments in Coronation Street

Despite the schedule changes, Coronation Street has been serving up plenty of drama lately. This week, viewers were treated to the shocking return of Julie Carp, who hadn’t been seen on the show in nearly a decade.

Julie’s comeback was met with excitement, but it quickly became clear that she was hiding something. Fans watched as she reunited with her nephew Todd and met Eileen’s partner, George. However, things took an unexpected turn when Julie instructed Todd to keep her return a secret from his mother, Eileen.

As George attempted to encourage a reconciliation between Julie and Eileen, Julie remained adamant about not staying in Weatherfield. Her reluctance to reconnect with her sister has left viewers speculating about the real reason behind her return – and what she might be hiding.

How to Catch Up on Coronation Street

If you’re missing your Corrie fix, there’s no need to worry. Fans can catch up on all the latest episodes of Coronation Street via ITVX, ITV’s on-demand streaming platform.

ITVX allows viewers to stay up to date with recent storylines, so you won’t have to worry about missing any crucial moments. Additionally, the platform offers a selection of classic Coronation Street episodes for those who want to relive the show’s most memorable moments.

Final Thoughts

While Coronation Street’s absence tonight may be disappointing for fans, the temporary scheduling changes are all due to ITV’s commitment to live sports coverage. With the soap returning on Monday, February 24, and plenty of drama unfolding on-screen, there’s still plenty to look forward to in Weatherfield.

Until then, fans can catch up on missed episodes, revisit classic moments, and speculate on what Julie Carp’s secret might be. One thing’s for sure – when Coronation Street returns, it will be worth the wait!
