For most people, surviving a near-death experience brings newfound clarity about what truly matters.

But for Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), his brush with death at the hands of Ian Ward (Ray Wise) hasn’t softened his perspective
it has only reignited his long-standing vendetta against Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman).
In the latest The Young and the Restless promo for the week of February 17,

Victor makes it clear to Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) that his next priority is taking down Jack and Jabot.

Victor’s Next Move Against Jabot: What’s His Strategy?

With Victor no longer owning Glissade, his previous strategy of using the company as a direct competitor to Jabot is no longer an option. He had initially hoped Adam (Mark Grossman) would use Newman Media to launch a strategic offensive against Jabot, but Adam refused, unwilling to target a company run by his friend. Given that Jabot isn’t currently embroiled in scandal, the question remains—what exactly does Victor plan to do next?
One possibility is that Victor will attempt to weaponize Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Mealor) past against him. Kyle previously committed corporate theft by stealing a confidential formula from Jabot to benefit Glissade. While Victor didn’t explicitly direct Kyle to do it, he was more than ready to take advantage of Kyle’s actions. At the time, Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) was furious and considered having Kyle arrested, but Victor stepped in, promising to protect him. However, once Kyle was no longer useful, Victor fired him, hired Diane instead, and eventually sold Glissade, which Jabot later acquired.
Though this saga seemed to be in the past, Victor could be plotting to resurrect the issue. He may try to build a legal case suggesting that Kyle, Jack, and Diane colluded to illegally acquire Glissade from him. If Victor plays his cards right, he could frame Kyle as the key culprit and even threaten to have him arrested. Given Victor’s disdain for Kyle’s relationship with Claire Grace (Hayley Erin), using the threat of legal trouble to pressure Kyle away from Claire could be a calculated power move.

Could Victor Use Claire to Spy on the Abbotts?
Another theory gaining traction is that Victor could use Claire as an unwitting informant against the Abbotts. Claire has grown close to the family, spending a lot of time at the Abbott mansion and being privy to their private conversations. If Victor wanted a discreet way to gather intel, planting a listening device on Claire—whether in her purse or on her phone—would be a devious but effective tactic.
If Victor were to overhear something damaging, he could turn it into a weapon against Jack and Jabot. When the truth inevitably comes to light, Jack might believe Claire betrayed them, even if she had no idea she was being used. This could drive a wedge between Claire and Kyle, which would work perfectly in Victor’s favor, as he has made it clear he doesn’t support their relationship.

History Repeats Itself—Would Victor Go That Far?
As underhanded as these schemes sound, they wouldn’t be out of character for Victor. His history of controlling his family’s relationships speaks for itself. Years ago, he had Victoria (Amelia Heinle) arrested to prevent her from marrying Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson). If he was willing to go to those lengths to stop his own daughter from being with an Abbott, why wouldn’t he manipulate the situation to ensure Kyle and Claire don’t last?
If Victor follows through on these plans, it could set off a domino effect of chaos for the Abbotts. Jack, Kyle, and Diane will likely fight back, but Victor rarely engages in a battle without believing he has the upper hand. With Kyle’s past mistakes looming and Claire unknowingly caught in the crossfire, the coming weeks in The Young and the Restless promise to deliver high-stakes drama.

Will Kyle be forced to pay for his past mistakes? Could Claire’s trust in the Abbotts be shattered? And will Victor finally get the upper hand on Jack? Stay tuned to The Young and the Restless to see how this power struggle unfolds.
