The Wednesday, February 19 episode of The Young and the Restless brought plenty of drama, as tensions flared across Genoa City.

Lauren was less than thrilled about Michael’s continued involvement with Victor,

while the Newman patriarch made it clear he had no intention of supporting Kyle and Claire’s relationship.

Meanwhile, Summer couldn’t shake her lingering feelings for Kyle, leading to friction with Daniel.

Jack and Diane Enjoy a Rare Escape

Jack (Peter Bergman) and Diane (Susan Walters) took a break from the chaos of their daily lives, relaxing at the Genoa City Athletic Club.

Enjoying their time together, they joked about the ongoing home renovations and how much they needed the getaway. Diane suggested they make it a habit to escape more often. When Jack asked what else she had in mind, Diane playfully brought up her cravings—crab empanadas—giving Jack no choice but to get dressed and indulge her request.

Victor Refuses to Budge on Kyle and Claire

Over at Society, Victor (Eric Braeden) delivered some harsh truths to Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Claire (Hayley Erin), making it clear that his stance on their relationship was firm—he would not support it. Claire was left to update Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) on Victor’s cold response when she arrived.

At another table, Summer (Allison Lanier) couldn’t keep her eyes off Kyle, much to Daniel’s (Michael Graziadei) annoyance. He suggested they switch locations, pointing out her obvious fixation. Though Summer denied being jealous, she ultimately gave in and agreed to leave.

Meanwhile, Nikki attempted to reason with Victor, questioning his bluntness toward Claire. However, Victor didn’t back down. He dismissed the Abbott family as doomed to dysfunction and warned that Kyle and Claire would inevitably be caught in the middle. Kyle defended his parents, insisting that Jack and Diane were stronger than ever. But Victor remained unconvinced, stating that Kyle’s track record with relationships proved he wasn’t the right choice for Claire. Despite Victor’s words, Claire reassured Kyle that she was all in.

As Victor made his exit, he ran into Jack and Diane at the door. The couple wasted no time taunting him about their recent acquisition of Glissade, but Victor brushed off their happiness, calling it “fabricated bliss” that wouldn’t last. After he left, Diane and Nikki clashed, while Jack and Kyle speculated about what Victor might be planning. Nikki, acknowledging Jack’s past support, warned them that they should prepare for the storm ahead.

Michael’s Loyalty to Victor Causes Strain

At the jazz club, Michael (Christian LeBlanc) and Lauren (Tracey Bregman) arrived, though Michael was already in a sour mood over their seating arrangement. Sensing something was off, Lauren pressed him for answers. Eventually, Michael admitted that Victor was gearing up for another war with the Abbotts.

Lauren was immediately frustrated, reminding Michael that she had warned him about getting too involved with Victor. Michael defended his loyalty, explaining that he saw Victor as a father figure—something he never had growing up.

As the conversation turned serious, Michael revealed more details about the night Ian (Ray Wise) shot Victor. He confessed that Ian had admitted to crimes connected to Jordan (Colleen Zenk) and that Victor had taken a bullet meant for Nikki. Lauren was stunned that he had kept this from her, scolding him for withholding such crucial information.

Despite her frustration, Michael softened the mood by pulling her onto the dance floor. He reassured her of his love and suggested they book a room. As the night took a romantic turn, their plans were interrupted by a phone call from Victor. Choosing to ignore it, Michael focused on his wife, while Victor left a voicemail reminding him about Jabot.

Daniel and Summer Clash Over Kyle

Elsewhere, Daniel and Summer arrived at the GCAC, where Daniel attempted to reach Phyllis (Michelle Stafford), only to receive no response. While Summer dismissed his concerns, Daniel found it suspicious that their mother had gone silent so suddenly, especially after flooding his phone with messages earlier.

The topic soon shifted back to Kyle, prompting more bickering between the siblings. Daniel pointed out that Summer had plenty going on in her life besides Kyle and encouraged her to let go of the past. When the conversation turned to Chance (Conner Floyd), Summer admitted to having mixed feelings about how he handled the investigation into Heather’s (Vail Bloom) death. Daniel defended Chance, explaining that he was simply doing his job.

However, the conversation circled back to Kyle once again, causing Summer to snap at Daniel, accusing him of acting just like their mother. Though Daniel teased her in response, Summer lost her appetite and decided to call it a night. Daniel, realizing he had pushed her too far, apologized for ruining their evening.
