Certainly, the loss of a baby is a horrific situation that no one should ever have to experience, but the last thing any of the Davis girls are expecting is that they’re going to lose another one of their own.
Kristina Corinthos Davis (Kate Mansi) nearly lost her life in a fight that ended with Irene’s life ending before it could begin. Now, rumors of Sam McCall’s (Kelly Monaco) are swirling, and we have to wonder how any of these women will be okay — Alexis, in particular.

During the first hearing Alexis endured in her attempt to get her license to practice law back, she was so stressed that she nearly backed out of it right before it was slated to go down. Still, she put up a good fight throughout, and ultimately, she won.
She rode that high for a while, even throughout Kristina pleading with her to help her seize custody of the baby was intended for Molly Lansing Davis (Kristen Vaganos) and TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow).
When Ava Jerome (Maura West) scuffled with Kristina, resulting in her falling through a third-story window and the fall causing the baby’s death, Alexis’ stress level pivoted to an all-time high. When Sam dies, it could be the last straw in Alexis’ fight to stay sober.

Alexis won’t merely be caught up in her own feelings of grief and despair over Sam’s death. Watching her other two daughters struggle to cope with losing their big sister after they’ve just lost baby Irene is going to crush Alexis’ spirit.
She may be intent on sticking together like the Davis girls always do, but it’ll be Alexis who is the least capable of holding herself together as she loses the strongest daughter she currently has while the other two are already falling apart — and tearing one another apart.

Alexis may not have the coping skills that are necessary to get through this, but she’s not going to give up without a fight, knowing her.
Having Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) back in town at the time of Sam’s death may only stir the pot more for Alexis, who may have a hard time reconciling that she lost so much time with her daughter in the first half of her life.
