Some even suggested a character they thought would be a better fit for one of the men
EMMERDALE fans have hit out at the new romance between Aaron Dingle and John Sugden, branding it “awful”.
The pair met by the side of the road when John’s van broke down on his way to the village.
Aaron helpfully had a look under John’s bonnet to see if he could spot what was wrong with the vehicle.
John then claimed to recognise Aaron’s face from a dating app and they ended up getting down and dirty by the van.
But viewers have been less than impressed, as they think the two men have no chemistry.
Several have taken to an online discussion forum to complain about the pairing.
One person joked: “Anybody else laughing at the way they’re kissing?? I’ve seen more convincing kisses in a school play!!!
“It’s like they don’t actually want to be touching each other and are being forced to do it. Not feeling any chemistry between them at all.”
Another Emmerdale fan agreed, saying: “It really was awful the other day – I’m glad it wasn’t just me. I get they were trying to do, ‘oh we hate each other and don’t want to kiss but we can’t help ourselves!’ But it just came across as, ‘eww, I don’t wanna kiss you’.
“I want to like them together. I want Aaron to be softened and forget what a little prick he’s been. But this is not it.”
A third exclaimed: “Oh god yes! Their kissing scenes are horrible to watch!”
And a fourth had their own ideas about who the Dingle man should be with, adding: “The relationship so far seems weird and forced. I don’t even like MacKenzie but Aaron has far better chemistry with him than John.”
After their roadside romp, Aaron tried to get to know John a bit better but he seemed strangely secretive.
The Dales newcomer then up and left Aaron by the side of the road as he went for a wee behind a tree.
