Nicholas Newman is more like his father on The Young and the Restless than he would like to admit. Like Victor, Nick also believes his ex-wives need his advice to continue functioning. On the Monday, August 26 episode, Nick took a break from worrying about Sharon to focus on Phyllis. She needs to hear from him, too, especially when it comes to parenting.

Keep Your Distance

Nick (Joshua Morrow) told Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) to stop butting into Summer’s (Allison Lanier) life. But..No! But…No! Nick said that no matter how guilty Phyllis feels about ruining Summer and Kyle’s (Michael Mealor) marriage, she had to butt out.

Yes, Phyllis did cause issues for Kyle and Summer, and Nick isn’t wrong. She is not to try and “fix” it. Phyllis is no good at fixing things. Only Nick is good at that.

The Spirit of the Law

OK, then. Phyllis will not try to micromanage Summer’s life. She will keep her distance. She’ll let Summer handle her own affairs. But, you know what Nick didn’t say anything about? Lucy (Lily Brooks O’Briant). Nick didn’t say anything about Lucy. Which means Phyllis has free rein with Lucy, right?

Chip Off the Old Nut

And, boy, does Lucy need a lot of help. Lucy’s parents, Daniel (Michael Graziadei) and Heather (Vail Bloom), just don’t understand what it’s like to raise such a sensitive, brilliant, and unique girl like Phyllis’ granddaughter.

Daniel and Heather insist on treating Lucy like she’s a regular girl who should be treated just like any other regular girl. No relative of Phyllis’ could ever be regular.

I’ll Be There For You

Lucy is so unhappy now because she hasn’t been accepted for who she is. Her parents want her to be someone she isn’t. That won’t be an issue with Nana Phyllis. Nana Phyllis understands Lucy in a way no one else ever will. Nana Phyllis will take Lucy under her wing and show her how to embrace her full potential. Soon, Lucy will be Phyllis’ mini-me. Nick didn’t say she wasn’t allowed to do that. And Lucy is going to need somebody in her corner soon.

In the latest episode of The Young and the Restless, Nick Newman continues to show similarities to his father, Victor. Just like Victor, Nick believes that his ex-wives need his guidance to navigate through life. On the recent episode aired on August 26, Nick shifted his focus from Sharon to Phyllis, emphasizing the importance of her role as a parent.Nick advised Phyllis to refrain from interfering in her daughter Summer’s life. Despite Phyllis feeling guilty about the troubles she caused in Summer and Kyle’s marriage, Nick made it clear that she should stay out of it. It’s evident that Nick excels in fixing things, unlike Phyllis, who tends to make situations worse. While Phyllis agrees to give Summer space to handle her own affairs, one thing Nick failed to mention was Phyllis’ relationship with Lucy, her granddaughter. It seems that Phyllis now has the freedom to guide Lucy in a way that her parents, Daniel and Heather, cannot comprehend. They fail to recognize Lucy’s unique qualities that only someone like Phyllis can appreciate.Lucy’s unhappiness stems from not being accepted for who she truly is. Unlike her parents, Phyllis understands Lucy on a deeper level and is determined to help her embrace her full potential. As Lucy’s “Nana,” Phyllis will be there to support and guide her, ensuring that she flourishes into her true self.Stay tuned for more captivating updates on The Young and the Restless, where relationships and family dynamics are constantly evolving.
