Emmerdale viewers are certain Tom King’s death is looming – with a surprise character behind his death.

The vile villager, played by James Chase, has been abusing and gaslighting wife Belle Dingle (played by Eden Taylor-Draper) for months. But following a dramatic trip to Wales, Belle broke free and told him their marriage was over.

Tom has since moved in with the Kings – who are blissfully unaware of his true nature. Meanwhile, Belle has moved back into Dale Head after Tom told her he changed the locks.

However, he failed to inform her that he also got a key made for himself and has since set up cameras inside her house. What’s more, he sank to new lows last week when he killed Belle’s beloved dog Piper.

In hard-to-watch scenes, he ran over the dog, before appearing to give her a lethal injection. Belle has since cottoned on that Tom was behind her pooch’s death – but Tom is determined not to let Belle go.

However, following reports that Tom actor James is leaving the soap, viewers reckon that the character is set to get killed off. And while plenty of viewers reckon it could be Belle or even Charity (Emma Atkins) that could murder him, others reckon it’s a soap bad guy.

Over on social media, viewers said how they think Lachlan White (Tom Atkinson) could murder him from behind bars. As fans will recall, Lachlan was one of Emmerdale’s most prolific serial killers – and first appeared in the soap back in 2014.

During his stint, he murdered everyone from his on-screen mother Chrissie Sugden (Louise Marwood) to his grandfather Lawrence White (John Bowe). However, Lachlan left the soap in 2018 when he was eventually arrested for his horrific crimes.

But viewers now reckon Lachlan could add another victim to his list: Tom. On a Reddit thread, one person said: “What do you think Tom’s fate will be once his abuse is discovered? Will he be killed off or will he end up in prison?”

Predicting that Tom and Lachlan could meet in jail, another fan replied: “I hope there is a big trial he gets sent down and it’s all over the news.

“He goes in his prison cell and his cellmate is Lachlan who shivs him to death then the credits happen but in reality he will be killed off in a who done it storyline that will go on for months,” they added.

Someone else said: “Hopefully severe public humiliation, beat to within an inch of his life and then sent to prison only to discover Lachlan is his cellmate.”
