Tuesday August 20, 2024: Today on Young and Restless, Victor backs Billy right into a corner, Audra and Kyle decide to call a truce, and Nikki has words of wisdom for Lily.
Monday’s recap:Victor Wants to Exploit Jill’s Illness, Chelsea Tells Billy They Need a Break, and Argues About Confessing With Adam

At the GCAC, Audra mopes about being in the middle of another Newman/Abbott feud.
Nate tells her they’re always feuding but she doesn’t like it.
Still, she won’t walk away from Glissade. She’s too invested and it’s too important to her. He admires that but Victor holds the cards.
She thinks things can change. Tucker thought he had all the cards too.
Nate points out that Victor’s different. He’ll use it as a battering ram against Jabot. What’ll she do about that?
She’ll figure it out and asks him not to underestimate her.
He doesn’t but also doesn’t want her to become collateral damage in one of Victor’s power plays.
She appreciates that but she’s been running the show this whole time while Tucker was off pining for Ashley.
Nate asks if she’s setting Kyle up to crash and burn and Audra admits that if it happens, it’s a win for her. It isn’t like Kyle’s not trying to do it to her.
Billy finds Lily working in her office. He tells her he had some personal business to do.
She asks about the press release and he tells her this is up to her.
They need to straighten a few things out.
Billy knows she doesn’t trust him but he can’t handle her lying to him.
He wants to know her real agenda. She sighs that they’re back to that.
The arguing begins and she tells him he’ll change plans as usual.
Billy tells her the back and forth is giving him whiplash and she in turn says he’s exhausting.
“Right back at you, darling,” he says.
He’s the one with the bad track record. He knows that so why is she working with him?
Just for a chance to kick him to the curb?
Lily skirts the question and tells him they don’t have time for this.
They have a business to run.
Lily’s reminded of Billy and Devon working together. Billy counters that she’s exactly like her brother. Power-hungry.
Chance walks in as she says, “Please. Oh my God.”
Chance knocks and Lily says sorry and quickly changes the topic to sending out dates for the party before she leaves the men.
In Victor’s office at Newman, Nikki and Victor talk about Jill’s illness and her “idiot son.”
Nikki has empathy for Jill, even though they don’t get along.
Victor claims he does too. “Do you?”
Nikki asks. Her husband respects Jill. Nikki wondered if he was exploiting her illness to weaken Billy.
He says it’d be fortuitous if he did. Nikki sniffs that he’s going to do it.
He reminds Nikki that it was Jill’s decision to hand the reigns over to “her idiot son” to begin with. It won’t affect her illness.
Nikki denies that. She wants him to succeed. Victor say she made a mistake and he’ll use it.
He barks that Billy doesn’t care about his mother. He didn’t even go see her. When Nikki asks what her husband plans on doing with this information, Victor reveals that will be Adam’s domain. “Oh, my God,” Nikki huffs.
She realizes he’s going to have Adam use Newman Media to go after Billy. It’s why he gave Adam her job, knowing she wouldn’t do his dirty work.
Victor doesn’t call it dirty work but Nikki says it’ll make Jill’s illness public.
Victor says Adam just has to threaten to make it public and the rest will take care of itself.
Besides, there are other ways to take care of Billy Abbott. “That SOB is getting what he deserves,” he says.
Nikki snaps that he’s also their grandkids father.
She mentions that even if Billy went back to Jabot, Lily’s still in charge at Chancellor-Abbott.
Victor says where his wife comes in.
They agree she’s more formidable than Billy.
She needs to be finessed and Nikki’s a master of that. She feels she’s the one who is being finessed. Victor wants her to arrange a run in with her.
She’ll know what to say.

At Neil’s lounge, Kyle tells Summer that she’s giving Audra a bigger role in her mind than necessary.
Summer calls that fascinating.
And she claims he’s wrong. He sighs and she tells him she doesn’t think he even trusts Audra.
Somehow, she thinks her grandpa is involved. Kyle says he urged him to work things out between them.
She agrees he’s been trying. Kyle claims Victor doesn’t want Harrison to get caught in the middle.
Nobody wants to see him get hurt. He reveals he’s not sleeping with Audra. Summer believes him but knows something’s going on.
He’s defending working with her but dislikes her. Why? She asks if he’s being forced into this.
He laughs and she begs him to talk to her, to tell her what’s going on.
Kyle admits he doesn’t trust Audra and isn’t happy to be working with her but it has to be done.
CBS
Eventually, he’ll be running Glissade alone. He’ll set her up to fail.
Summer reminds him Audra’s no pushover.
Tucker McCall would agree. Kyle promises he’ll tell her everything eventually and asks for her trust.
She knows now she has no choice. Kyle asks if they can put this custody talk behind them and work on a solution instead of court.
He doesn’t want to push her out of his life.
In fact, he’s sorry for the hateful things he said and wants to take a step back. She does too. He asks to call off the lawyers.
Summer will consider it. His work arrangement raises red flags.
Audra and Nate walk to the stairs at the Athletic Club. She’s headed to her room and invites him along.
He wants to but has a proposal to get out. He’s going back to the office. She suggests he stop and smell the birds of paradise.
He will when she will. It’s why they’re such good friends. They get each other.
Nate wishes she wouldn’t waste time with Victor and Kyle and find a company with less baggage.
She repeats this is the one she wants. One way or another, Glissade will be all hers.
Nate hopes so but it’s been his experience that it usually blows up in your face. Audra’s glad that he’s in her corner.
She takes off upstairs.
Lily finds Nate at Crimson Lights drinking coffee. She’s in a mood and he assumes it’s due to Billy.
She doesn’t want to get into it but he tells her he predicted it from the start. Must be hard to push Billy out the door than she thought.
Lily snarks that Devon had no right to tell him about that. She can’t trust him either.
Nate says not to be hard on him. It was out of concern for her. He wanted him to try to talk her out of this. Lily’s glad to hear it. She needs to push Billy out but Nate says he has all of Jill’s power.
CBS
At Society, Billy and Chance sit at the bar.
Chance is shocked that Billy believes Lily never planned on being a real partner with him.
Billy rants and says this was the plan the whole time. Chance is shocked. Did Billy piss her off?
Billy doesn’t think so and decides it’s time for Lily to go. Chance urges him to think about this but Billy’s made his decision.
He’ll handle Jill later. Chance doubts Jill will go in for this. She hand-picked Lily herself. Billy doesn’t care. He texts Lily to see her ASAP.
When she calls him, he tells her he has the press release ready for her. They agree to meet at the Athletic club.
Back at Neil’s lounge, Summer begs Kyle to tell her everything.
When Audra shows up, Summer gets crusty.
Audra’s sorry to interrupt.
Summer leaves and Audra asks if everything is alright.
He calls it personal. She just hopes he can keep her out of this. She doesn’t get why Summer thinks she’s a bad influence on him or Harrison.
“I’ve never even met the kid.” Kyle thinks it’s best she doesn’t. They agree that their relationship should stay business only.
They talk business and how she just got a positive call from someone in Paris. Kyle’s happy to hear it.
Summer meets Chance at the bar at Society as Billy’s leaving to see Lily. Summer asks where he’s off to.
Chance thinks he’s going to prove every negative thing people say about him is true. They talk about how messy things are with Chancellor and Billy.
Summer asks if he’ll try to force him out too. Chance isn’t sure but his last name is still Chancellor.
Summer asks if it’d be better to leave before Billy tries to toss him out. Chance says it may not come to that. His money is on Lily in the war between her and Billy.
Nikki and Victor look at menus in the dining area of the Athletic Club.
She asks why he didn’t tell her about Adam sooner.
He shrugs her off. There wasn’t reason to. Nikki’s sore about it and asks who else are targets on his list.
Victor says this is in Adam’s wheelhouse more than hers. She should focus what it would mean to run Chancellor Industries.
She’s trying but the vengeance bothers her. He understands and asks if they can focus on dinner.
He toasts to their acquisition and Lily wanders in.
Nikki thinks fate’s smiling on them. Victor calls Lily over to join them.
She has a meeting with Billy so can’t and when Victor asks how things are going, she calls things a work in progress.
When Billy walks in, Victor says he needs a word and asks Lily to sit with Nikki for a bit. Nikki asks how things are really going.
