The Young and the Restless spoilers for Wednesday, August 14, welcome Traci back to Genoa City — but she hasn’t returned alone!

Two for the Road

Abby (Melissa Ordway) told Devon (Bryton James) that her mom was doing great at the mental facility in Paris. It seems so great that Traci (Beth Maitland) doesn’t have to hang around in France anymore and can come home.

But, unlike the last few visits, she’s not alone. Alan (Christopher Cousins) came with her. They’re an item now. That’s…nice. It’s not that we don’t want Traci to. be happy. We do, we really do. She deserves it. But happiness does not a juicy soap opera story make. And, more than we want Traci to be happy, we want her to have a story. So. Alan. Feeling like yourself lately? No chance you might be your twin brother or anything soapy like that?

Trust Fund

Jack (Peter Bergman) has never really had a lot of faith in Billy (Jason Thompson). We don’t blame him. Billy has never — what’s the word we’re looking for? — succeeded at anything. And the few times he came close, he quit because he was bored or unfulfilled or unsupported or something stupid or untrustworthy.

So now that he’s going to run Abbott-Chancellor with Lily (Christel Khalil) and put the family name at risk, Jack isn’t sure he’s on board with that. Billy, of course, takes it personally. Which he should. He is personally responsible.

Mother Daughter Outfit

Victoria (Amelia Heinle) lost so many years with her baby girl, and she is desperate to spend as much time as possible with Claire (Hayley Erin) now. She wants to hear about every single aspect of her life.

But are there some things a grown woman shouldn’t tell her mommy? Victoria may be second-guessing her total openness policy.

When Traci arrives back in Genoa City, it becomes clear that she is not alone this time. Alan accompanies her, and it seems that the two have become an item. While we want Traci to find happiness, we also hope that this new relationship brings some drama and excitement to the soap opera storyline. Could there be a twist involving Alan’s true identity? Is he really who he claims to be, or could he have a secret past waiting to be revealed?Meanwhile, Jack is wary of Billy’s involvement in running Abbott-Chancellor alongside Lily. Jack has always had doubts about Billy’s ability to succeed and fears that Billy will put the family name at risk. As tensions rise between the two brothers, Billy takes Jack’s criticism personally, leading to even more conflict within the family. Will Billy be able to prove himself and earn Jack’s trust, or will his past mistakes continue to haunt him?On another front, Victoria is eager to make up for lost time with her daughter Claire. However, as Claire begins sharing more and more details about her life, Victoria starts to wonder if there are some things that a grown woman should keep to herself. As their relationship deepens, Victoria struggles with how much she should share and how much she should keep private. Will this newfound openness bring them closer together, or will it create tension between mother and daughter?Stay tuned for more updates and twists in the lives of your favorite Genoa City residents.
