No one has ever accused Billy of being a great guy on The Young and the Restless. He was kind of a messed up teen, a screw-up of a young adult, and a total loser by his thirties.

But this week, Billy seems to have upped his obnoxious game, being rude to everyone in his path, from Adam (to be expected) to Devon (ditto) to Lily (what the heck, dude; she’s one of your few fans left in Genoa City?)

After the August 7 episode, we think we know what’s really going on. All the clues were right there—just like last time.

Someone That I Used To Love

Remember the last time Billy (Jason Thompson) was acting even worse than usual? He was horrible to Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and even plotted to murder Adam (Mark Grossman).

It turned out that Billy had developed an alternative personality. This one looked like Billy, sounded like Billy. But he also chewed gum a lot.

Which is how we knew he was Evil Billy. Evil Billy took a nap, where he was yelled at in his dreams by Jill (Jess Walton), Victoria, and Ghost Delia. When he woke up, he was all better, and we thought he’d put his mental health issues behind him. Nope!

One of the Gang

Genoa City is currently awash with the mentally ill. Ashley (Eileen Davidson) is in an institution in Paris. Connor (Judah Mackey — who revealed details about Connor’s OCD) just came back from residential care.

What Happened to Ashley on The Young and The Restless? | Soaps In Depth

Claire (Hayley Erin) is still struggling with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) is…still Phyllis.

So why not have Billy join the fun? Behavior is contagious, you know. It’s why there are eating disorder clusters and suicide clusters. And Genoa City currently seems to be the epicenter of ill health, which makes Billy most suseptible. It’s obvious that he’s not himself. Welcome back, Gum Chewing Billy!

Billy’s recent behavior on The Young and the Restless has left fans wondering what’s really going on with him. It seems like he’s taken a turn for the worse, being rude to everyone in his path. But is there more to his behavior than meets the eye?Looking back at Billy’s past struggles, it’s clear that he’s no stranger to mental health issues. Remember when he developed an alternative personality that led him to do some pretty terrible things? It’s possible that history is repeating itself, with Billy’s recent actions being a symptom of a larger problem. With so many characters in Genoa City dealing with their own mental health issues, it’s not surprising that Billy has been affected as well. The environment he’s in is a breeding ground for negative behavior, making it easy for him to slip back into old habits. So, is it time to welcome back Gum Chewing Billy? It seems like a real possibility. With the support of his loved ones and proper treatment, there’s hope that Billy can overcome his struggles once again.
