Emmerdale star Louise Jameson has teased more trouble ahead for her character, as she shares her views on age gap romances.

Jameson’s character Mary Goskirk has had her fair share of relationship trouble. Recently, she suffered a heartbreak after developing a crush on her friend Suzy Merton.

Despite Suzy reciprocating Mary’s feelings, she rekindled her romance with ex-girlfriend Vanessa Woodfield when the latter returned to the village.

After some crossed wires, Mary and Suzy settled for being just friends. But Jameson has hinted that the book isn’t closed for the pair.

“There’s going to be a love life storyline but I don’t know when! But they keep dangling this carrot,” she told The Mirror.

“I said earlier, I hope they don’t make her too happy and too settled because it’ll take all the drama out of it! I love it when I get to lose my temper and exercise your acting muscles!”

The actor didn’t deny the possibility of a future love triangle between Mary, Suzy and Vanessa. “Maybe a love triangle! Maybe she’ll get together with Suzy, I don’t know what’s going on yet. I do think they’re in good match.”

Jameson also gave an insight into her own views about the “age gap” relationship, saying that “in real life”, it would be a “worry” for her.

“If you’re old enough to be someone’s mother, it’s probably not a brilliant idea. However, it happens to a lot of people so it’s to do with the people!” she said.

With love on the cards for Mary, will she and Suzy find their way back to each other?
