In Tuesday’s episode of ITV’s Emmerdale, Charity Dingle, played by Emma Atkins,

made a terrifying discovery that led her to fear for Belle Dingle’s life at the hands of her husband Tom.

Charity had been growing increasingly suspicious of Tom King’s (James Chase) controlling behaviour towards his wife Belle,

and her concerns escalated when she found out the couple had left the village.

While at the Woolpack, Charity overheard Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) expressing surprise that Tom was considering leaving the Emmerdale vet practice.

She couldn’t shake off the feeling that something was amiss, especially after seeing Tom and Belle drive away earlier,

despite having plans to join Cain (Jeff Hordley) and Moira Dingle (Natalie J. Robb) for dinner.

Despite Lydia (Karen Blick) advising Charity that Belle and Tom were entitled to their privacy and didn’t need to inform the family of their every move, Charity felt Belle’s behaviour was unusual, reports the Express.

In a twist, Charity ran into Belle’s support worker who revealed that she hadn’t seen her client since Belle missed her last appointment and had switched off her mobile phone.

This revelation triggered alarm bells for Charity, who enlisted Cain’s help to break into Belle’s home where they found the address of the vet’s where Tom is planning to start a new job.

They managed to track down her location and arrived at the couple’s cottage in Wales, only to be met with a horrifying scene.

The scene was one of utter disarray; furniture upended and strewn across the dimly lit room, shards of glass littering the floor. Charity and Cain burst into the chaos, their eyes catching sight of Belle’s jumper.

Whirling around, Charity’s gaze followed over Cain’s shoulder, her finger directing attention to a blood stain on the white door.

“Where is she?” Charity demanded, to which Cain responded with a grim vow: “Whatever he has done, he is a dead man.”
